Direct Support Professional

Job Summary :

Delafayettes Care LLC is seeking compassionate and reliable Direct Care Staff to provide services to individuals with developmental disabilities under the APD iBudget Waiver. Staff will support clients in maintaining independence, ensuring safety, and achieving personal goals in both home and community settings. Position Types Available Companion (Community-Based Support) Personal Supports (In-Home Care) Companion Staff Responsibilities (Community-Based) Accompany clients to community activities (shopping, outings, appointments, recreational events) Encourage social interaction and community engagement Provide verbal guidance and supervision to ensure safety Assist with building communication and decision-making skills Educate clients on their rights, choices, and personal safety Monitor surroundings and ensure client safety at all times

Note:

Companion staff do not provide hands-on personal care. Personal Supports Staff Responsibilities (In-Home) Assist clients with daily living activities (bathing, grooming, dressing, toileting) Support meal preparation, cleaning, and household tasks Provide supervision to ensure a safe home environment Offer reminders for medications (if applicable) Assist clients in building independence with daily routines Follow individualized service plans and goals Required Qualifications High School Diploma or GED (preferred) Experience in caregiving or working with individuals with disabilities (preferred) Strong communication and interpersonal skills Reliable transportation and valid driver's license Ability to pass a Level 2 Background Screening Required Certifications (APD Guidelines) CPR & First Aid Certification
