Direct Support Professional

Job Summary We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Direct Support Professional (DSP) to provide essential support to individuals with developmental disabilities. The ideal candidate will assist clients in achieving their personal goals, promoting independence, and enhancing their quality of life. This role requires a commitment to fostering a positive and supportive environment while ensuring the safety and well-being of those in your care. Duties Provide direct support to individuals with developmental disabilities, assisting with daily living activities such as personal hygiene, meal preparation, and medication management. Facilitate community integration by accompanying clients on outings and engaging them in social activities. Assist clients with heavy lifting and mobility needs, ensuring safe transfer techniques are utilized. Maintain a clean and organized living environment for clients, including light housekeeping tasks. Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to each client's unique needs and preferences. Monitor client progress and document changes in behavior or health status, reporting any concerns to the appropriate healthcare professionals. Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including nurses and therapists, to ensure comprehensive care for clients. Requirements Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism is preferred. Knowledge of assisted living or home care practices is beneficial. Ability to perform heavy lifting as required by client needs. Strong communication skills and the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. Compassionate demeanor with a strong desire to help others achieve their goals. Previous experience in senior care or direct support roles is an advantage. Pay:

$18.00 - $20.00 per hour
