Responsibilities Assist clients in learning independent living skills through coaching, cuing, teaching, and assisting clients with daily tasks such as chores, hygiene, cooking, achieving goals, etc. Manage difficult behaviors calmly and effectively to maintain a safe environment for yourself, the client, and others, including addressing physical and verbal aggression. Protect client confidentiality, comply with HIPAA, treat clients with dignity, and respect their rights. Assist with daily activities, including bathing, dressing, grooming, incontinence care, and oral care. Administer medication and document it on the Medication Administration Record. Record accurate daily documentation of residents and the home. Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary needs while maintaining cleanliness and safety standards in the kitchen area. Support clients during community outings or social activities to promote engagement and independence. Document care activities accurately, observe clients, administer medication, and record progress notes to ensure accurate and complete records. Perform light cleaning tasks and follow established infection control procedures to maintain a clean, safe environment. Respond to emergencies or behavior challenges using CPR, crisis intervention, or first aid. Safely perform blocks, disengagements, and holds as needed. Required Must be 18 years or older Must hold a valid driver's license Job offer contingent on successful passing of a criminal/child abuse and neglect background check Preferred Experience (in one or more of the below fields) Experience in group homes, assisted living, nursing homes, or home health is preferred. Knowledge of patient care techniques, including ADLs, medication, and monitoring. Familiarity with caring for individuals with Developmental Disabilities (DD), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention-Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder (FASD), Intellectual Disabilities (ID), Down Syndrome (DS), Traumatic History, and Mental Health Conditions.
