Direct Support Professional (DSP)- PER DIEM

Job Description:

Our team is seeking a caring, motivated, respectful, and compassionate DSP (Direct Support Professional) to work with an adult with autism in his home. This is a part time, flexible schedule position. We are looking for someone to work on a per diem basis, committing to at least 2 shifts per month. The shifts are primarily afternoon/evening and weekend shifts, with flexibility for how many hours you want to pick up. The DSP must be able to provide support for individuals in activities of daily living, community and social activities, and maintaining safety.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Provides direct care to an individual with autism. 2. Performs personal care tasks, including assistance with basic personal hygiene and grooming, feeding and ambulation, medical monitoring and health care related tasks 3. Documents services provided. Keeps track of casework notes, daily activities, behavioral assessments 4. Implements strategies as outlined in a behavior support plan with training and support from a BCBA. 5. All other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Experience working with individuals with challenging behavior
• Strong written and visual communication skills
• Dependable in attendance and timeliness
• Ability to handle physical aspects of job, including bending, stooping, lifting, pushing, pulling, reaching and walking for periods of time
• Passion for the non-profit sector and a deep commitment to the organization's mission.
