A Direct Support Professional (DSP) Float / caregiver provides direct support, positive direction, instruction, and assistance to individuals with mental, intellectual & developmental, and physical disabilities. The ultimate goal is to empower individuals with disabilities to live as independently and comfortably as possible while maintaining their dignity and respect.

Do:

 Travel and be cross trained to work in multiple homesProvide hands-on assistance, encouragement, mentoring, and guidance.

Ensure the comfort, safety, and personal growth of the individuals we serve.

Assist with daily living tasks such as moving around, getting in and out of bed, dressing, bathing, personal hygiene and more.

Light housekeeping tasks and meal preparation.

Build relationships with persons served and teammates.

Attend special community occasions and fun activities like outdoor walks, games, and social events.

Transport persons served to appointments or other activities outside the home.

Empower people with disabilities to live life to the fullest.

Document progress, milestones, and action steps.

QualificationsWhat Makes You A Great Fit:

Must have a least 2-4 years of prior experience working with individuals with disabilitiesPrior experience working with individuals with high behaviors and/or willing willingness to be trained is strongly preferredPerson-centered, patient, and kindDependable, adaptable, flexibleObservant and detail orientedPositive role-model for others and able to work on a teamCommitted to creating a respectful and collaborative environmentComputer skills for documentation18 years or olderSuccessful clearance of a criminal background check for licensing requirementGood communication is key in this role.
