Direct Support Professional, Self Direction

AccessCNY is looking for an engaging and compassionate Direct Support Professional (1:1 support staff) to work with a gifted young woman with a developmental disability located in Baldwinsville, NY. We are looking for a proactive employee to provide person-centered services and support to assist the individual achieve independence with day-to-day activities, learn to communicate in meaningful ways, gain new life skills, and enjoy recreational time at home and in the community while maintaining the individual's health and safety. The ideal candidate will also have a lot of energy and patience and enjoy being outdoors and inside. Candidates must be okay with being around a baby.

Responsibilities include:

• Promoting personal growth, wellness, and independence
• Helping to teach skills for independent living
• Supporting to be more active in the community in her areas of interest
• Encouraging self-advocacy and the development of support networks Candidate must possess a keen sense of attention to detail, especially when electronically logging each day's time, mileage, and service documentation.

Internet access and a valid email address are required.

Hours and days of work:

• On average, between 15 to 20 hours a week on average

Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Friday:

10 to 3 or 4- you don't need to be available all four days Pay rate: $25 per hour, additionally $.725 per mile for transportation reimbursement

Location:

Baldwinsville, NY Reliable transportation is required. Background check, fingerprinting, and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by non-profit agency. Please respond with a resume or summary of experience.
