At Kerr's youth group homes, we support and empower individuals with the goal of helping them thrive as they lead self-determined lives within their communities. Every person is unique, so job duties vary. Common tasks involve help with medications, cooking, dressing, personal hygiene and cleaning. A typical day starts with preparing medications and waking up the kids. You'll help them get ready for school or a day of activities. There are after school outings/activities, such as going swimming or to a local park. At night, you'll help them with chores, dinner, personal hygiene and getting ready for bed. For fun, some enjoy video games, art or anime (cartoons) while others play sports. No matter what their passions are, you'll be there to support them. In this role, you will… Provide high-quality personal care. Positively influence the lives of children, helping them to live their best life. Ensure the rights of all children served are recognized, respected, promoted, and upheld. Assist the children we serve in the community, on home visits, and on trips. Communicate professionally with family members, community members, medical professionals, and others. Learn and follow Behavior Support Plans for people we support. Observe and respond to concerns regarding general health and specific conditions. Monitor and track vital signs, weight, sleep, mood, etc. Although assigned to a primary group home, support may be needed at other group homes. Other duties as assigned or needed. Position covered under SEIU Local 503 Collective Bargaining Agreement (CBA). Ability to meet all background check, reference, and agency driving requirements. Driving eligibility for day and swing shifts includes a current and valid driver's license, at least two years of driving experience verifiable through the DMV, and no more than two moving violation infractions in the past two years.
