Now Hiring 3rd shift Direct Support Professionals- Full Time and Per Diem Shifts Available Are You someone who thrives on overnight shifts? Do you want a career that truly makes a difference? Join our team as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) and provide compassionate care and support to individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities during critical overnight hours. We are specifically seeking dependable, awake overnight staff who are comfortable working 3rd shift schedules and can provide a calm, safe and supportive environment throughout the night. Your day as a Direct Support Professionals As a new Direct Support Professional (DSP) at The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler, you will: Support individuals with daily living needs and overnight routines. Ensure safety, well-being, and comfort during overnight hours. Assist with documentation and housekeeping Respond appropriately to overnight needs to emergencies Help individuals maintain dignity, independence and quality of life What you need to be successful To be successful as a Direct Support Professional (DSP) at The Arc of Chemung-Schuyler, you will need a unique blend of skills that prioritize the care and well-being of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities. Strong interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be building trusting relationships with those you support and their families. Empathy is critical; understanding the challenges faced by individuals with diverse needs will enhance your ability to provide compassionate assistance. Additionally, problem-solving skills will help you address unexpected situations effectively, ensuring a smooth and supportive environment. Being customer-centric is crucial; you will need to anticipate the needs of individuals and adapt your approach accordingly. Reliability and strong attendance are essential. The ability to stay awake, alert and engaged during overnight shifts is required. Compassionate, patient and team-oriented attitude as well as experience in caregiving, health care and human services is also helpful but not required. Are you ready for an exciting opportunity?
