Job Description
Upper Valley Services (UVS) Looking for full-time, part-time, regular, or seasonal employees! Upper Valley Services (UVS) is a mission-driven, designated non-profit agency in Vermont dedicated to supporting individuals with developmental disabilities and adults participating in Adult Family Care. At UVS, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs) play a vital, hands-on role in helping individuals lead fulfilling lives. DSPs are advocates, mentors, and caregivers who provide daily support tailored to each individual's unique strengths, preferences, and goals. This is rewarding work that directly impacts quality of life and empowers people to live as independently as possible. Position Overview We are seeking compassionate, dependable, and motivated Direct Support Professionals who are patient, open-minded, and team-oriented. The ideal candidate will be creative, adaptable, and committed to providing respectful, person-centered support. DSPs assist individuals in building skills, pursuing interests, and engaging with their communities. This includes offering positive encouragement, fostering independence, and supporting both everyday needs and long-term goals. Key Responsibilities Provide person-centered support based on individual needs, preferences, and goals Assist with daily living activities, including personal care and hygiene Support individuals in developing life skills such as communication, problem-solving, and emotional regulation Encourage participation in community activities, hobbies, and social opportunities Introduce new interests while supporting existing passions and personal goals Maintain accurate documentation of services and supports provided Collaborate effectively with team members, families, and other professionals Provide guidance and reassurance during times of stress or behavioral challenges Qualifications Compassionate, patient, and respectful approach to supporting others Ability to work independently and as part of a team Strong communication and problem-solving skills Previous experience with documentation is preferred Experience in human services or caregiving is a plus, but not required
Requirements:
Valid driver's license Reliable transportation and auto insurance Ability to pass a background checkSchedule Options Full-time:
30-40 hours per week (Overtime is also frequently available)Part-time:
