Direct Support Worker

Responsibilities Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support Monitor and document patients' vital signs, health status, and behavioral changes with attention to HIPAA privacy standards Support medication administration following care plans and safety protocols Provide companionship and emotional support to promote mental well-being Prepare nutritious meals and assist with meal planning tailored to individual dietary needs Maintain a clean, safe environment through regular cleaning and sanitation tasks Use specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident's to ensure safe transfers and mobility assistance Observe patient conditions closely, report concerns promptly, and collaborate with healthcare teams for optimal care Support clients in community outings or activities to enhance social engagement Follow all safety procedures including CPR, first aid, and emergency response protocols Skills Proven experience working in assisted living, home health, nursing homes, or group homes with individuals who have developmental disabilities or dementia Knowledge of Alzheimer's care, memory care, autism support, hospice care, and long-term care environments Strong patient observation skills with the ability to monitor vital signs and assess behavioral changes accurately Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate mobility aids such as Hoyer lifts or wheelchairs Excellent communication skills for working effectively with clients, families, and healthcare professionals Familiarity with HIPAA regulations ensuring confidentiality of patient information Experience in medication administration, care planning, and documentation practices Compassionate approach combined with patience when assisting individuals with disabilities or cognitive impairments Basic cooking skills for meal preparation aligned with dietary guidelines Join us as a Direct Support Worker if you're passionate about making a positive impact through dedicated caregiving.
