  • Part-time, Full-time Director of Operations & Growth Job Overview At 3 Little Birds (3LB), we believe that quality support begins with meaningful relationships, compassion, and a genuine commitment to helping others thrive.
Our organization was built on the belief that individuals with developmental disabilities deserve care that is person-centered, empowering, and rooted in dignity, respect, and community inclusion. We are currently seeking an experienced, visionary, and deeply compassionate Director of Operations & Growth to join our leadership team. This role is far more than a traditional leadership position — we are looking for someone who will become a trusted partner in helping guide the future of 3LB. We value loyalty, integrity, collaboration, emotional intelligence, and individuals who are willing to lead with both professionalism and heart. The ideal candidate is someone who understands the complexities of the developmental disabilities field while also recognizing the importance of human connection. We are seeking a leader who can think strategically, build strong relationships, strengthen internal systems, support staff development, and help foster a workplace culture where both employees and the individuals we serve feel valued, supported, and heard. This position requires someone who is not afraid to step in where needed, contribute ideas, solve problems collaboratively, and help build sustainable growth while remaining aligned with our mission and values. We are looking for someone who believes in teamwork, embraces innovation, and wants to be part of building something meaningful and long-lasting within the community. About 3LB 3 Little Birds is an approved Medicaid provider through the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD). Our mission is to provide exceptional, person-centered support services that empower individuals to live meaningful, self-directed, and fulfilling lives. We are committed to helping individuals break barriers, build independence, strengthen community connections, and achieve personal goals through compassionate and individualized support. At 3LB, we strive to create an environment where care feels personal — not transactional. We prioritize authenticity, advocacy, collaboration, and empowerment in every aspect of our work. Key Responsibilities
  • Partner closely with executive leadership to help shape and execute the long-term vision, goals, and operational growth of 3LB
  • Oversee day-to-day operations while continuously identifying opportunities to improve efficiency, communication, systems, and organizational structure
  • Foster a collaborative, positive, and mission-driven workplace culture rooted in accountability, compassion, professionalism, and teamwork
  • Provide leadership, mentorship, and support to administrative staff, Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), and team members across departments
  • Support recruitment efforts, onboarding processes, employee development, retention strategies, and performance management initiatives

  • Ensure organizational compliance with NJ DDD standards, Medicaid regulations, policies, documentation requirements, and operational best practices
  • Assist with budgeting, operational planning, reporting, and strategic resource allocation to support sustainable organizational growth
  • Help strengthen organizational visibility and community engagement through networking, outreach, partnerships, and professional representation of the company
  • Contribute thoughtful leadership, creative problem-solving, and strategic insight during periods of organizational growth, change, and development
  • Work collaboratively alongside leadership as a true team player who is invested in both the mission and long-term success of the organization Qualifications & Experience
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of leadership or management experience within the developmental disabilities, human services, healthcare, or nonprofit sector preferred
  • Direct experience working within the New Jersey Division of Developmental Disabilities (DDD) system strongly preferred
  • Previous experience as a Support Coordinator and/or experience working closely with Support Coordination agencies highly valued
  • Strong understanding of person-centered planning, Medicaid-funded services, community-based supports, and compliance standards within the developmental disabilities field
  • Demonstrated ability to lead teams effectively while fostering a supportive and respectful workplace culture
  • Excellent communication, organizational, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong emotional intelligence and the ability to navigate complex situations with professionalism, empathy, and discretion
  • Ability to balance high-level strategic thinking with hands-on operational support when needed
  • Experience with staff supervision, program development, operations management, and organizational growth preferred
  • Bachelor's degree required however
  • Leadership experience and extensive DDD knowledge required Who You Are You are someone who leads with integrity, values relationships, and understands that strong organizations are built through trust, consistency, and teamwork.
You are dependable, forward-thinking, and passionate about creating meaningful impact within the lives of others. You are comfortable taking initiative, bringing new ideas to the table, and helping guide an organization through growth while remaining grounded in compassion and purpose. Most importantly, you genuinely care about people — both the individuals we serve and the team working beside you. Why Join 3LB? At 3 Little Birds, we are building more than a company — we are building a community. We are committed to creating a workplace where people feel supported, respected, and empowered to grow both personally and professionally. This is an opportunity to become part of an organization that values authenticity, innovation, collaboration, and purpose-driven leadership. Your voice will matter here. Your ideas will be welcomed.
