Responsible for the successful administration of the Cherokee Nation Community Wellness Center in accordance with established policies and procedures. This position serves the community while managing and overseeing the programs, facilities, volunteer staff, and financial and staff development. Collaboration with community agencies in meeting the wellness needs of Cherokee citizens and wellness center members.
Job Duties:
Responsible for creating a work culture that aligns with the mission and vision of Cherokee Nation and Cherokee Nation Public Health while adding value to the local and greater community through relentless positivity, engagement, and passion. Develops center long-range and annual plans and strategies in accordance with Cherokee Nation priorities (Jobs, Community, Language). Responsible for providing employees resources to employees to fulfill their roles. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and procedures while promoting and incorporating the Cherokee Nation attributes in all program activities. Responsible for developing, monitoring, and overseeing the program's budget to meet fiscal objectives. Develops, manages, and monitors the branch operating budget and meets or exceeds budget targets. Manages day-to-day operations. Oversees subordinate supervisors, who supervise specific staff according to programmatic activity. Supervises employees and volunteers while planning, assigning, and directing staff and volunteer work. Directs staff leadership of all center programs while monitoring and maintaining all required staff certifications. Recruits, trains, and develops program staff and volunteers. Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information. Compiles and analyzes program statistics. Monitors and evaluates the effectiveness of and participation in programs. Develops and maintains collaborative relationships with other community organizations. Coordinates the use of facilities for Cherokee Nation program activities and events. As well as, organizing and scheduling center programming. Establishes new program activities and expands the program in response to community needs. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints promptly. Plans and oversees age-specific (youth, adult, senior, etc.) activities. Generates and disseminates wellness center membership manual; uploaded annually. Prepares statistical, analytical, and narrative reports regarding programs and operations. Develops and maintains relationships with current and potential funding sources, both private and public. Develops and maintains a collaborative relationship with community agencies in service delivery. Directs all public relations and marketing efforts for all operations of the branch. Other duties may be assigned.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Manages four (4) to six (6) subordinate supervisors who supervise one (1) to ten (10) non-supervisory employees in the Public Health Department. Is responsible for the overall direction, coordination, and evaluation of this unit. May also directly supervise a total of twenty-one (21) to forty (40) employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities following the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
Qualifications:
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENT
Bachelor's degree from a 4-year college or university; or six (6) years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.
EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENT
An additional four (4) years of experience in a related field.
COMPUTER SKILLS
An individual should have knowledge of Database software, Human Resource systems, Internet software, Order processing systems, Spreadsheet software, and Word Processing software.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Must possess a valid driver's license with a driving history verified through a motor vehicle report that meets the requirements for Cherokee Nation underwriting rating. Must be certified in CPR and maintain throughout employment. CPR may be obtained during orientation.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
The employee must not be and will not be under sanction by the United States Department of Health and Human Services Office of the Inspector General (OIG) or by the General Services Administration (GSA) or listed on the OIG's Cumulative Sanction Report, or the GSA's List of Excluded Providers, or listed on the OIG's List of Excluded Individuals/Entities (LEIE). Must meet and maintain periodic background investigation and adjudication for child care.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle or feel, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk or hear, taste, or smell. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distant vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to correct/adjust focus.
WORK ENVIRONMENT
While performing the duties of this job, the employee may regularly be exposed to working near moving or mechanical parts. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may occasionally be exposed to wet or humid conditions and outdoor weather conditions.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
