Laural, NJ Role Purpose The role of the Director - Application Operations is to serve on the IT Application Operations Team as the "front door" to support effective communication, integration and alignment with Lumexa Imaging business and clinical needs. Responsible for application support, lifecycle management, and operational performance. This role provides strategic and operational oversight for the delivery, stability, optimization, and modernization of the markets application portfolio, ensuring reliable, secure, and cost-effective services that enable clinical, operational, and business outcomes. The Director - Application Operations reports to the Vice President Application Operations and will collaborate closely with the IT Operations Manager, Service Delivery Managers, and the Solution Architecture Teams. Responsibilities This is not a remote position - at least 60% of the time will be spent rounding in the various sites to facilitate frontline interaction with business units and clinical operations on the effectiveness and status of technology investments and on-going operations. Provide leadership for market-level application operations, support, and lifecycle management. Serve as an market IT partner to clinical, operational, and business leaders, ensuring application services enable strategic objectivesBusiness/IT Strategy:
Aligns with business and clinical leaders to understand business/clinical objectives, strategies, and appropriate supporting/enabling technologies.Demand Management:
Supports the demand intake process for business or clinical technology projects requests including but not limited to the collection of business/clinical requirements, the development of project requests, and the forwarding of all pertinent information for execution.Project Portfolio Management:
Tracks the status of all planned or in-flight technology projects for a given Lumexa Imaging market/region; prepare and provide reports to Lumexa Imaging business/clinical leaders to update them on their specific projects, status, and risks/issues.Service Operations:
Secures pertinent technology operations and performance reports, including service level agreement (SLA) performance reports, for a specific region and distribute and/or present to appropriate business and/or clinical leaders as required. Based on region-specific technology experience feedback (e.g., management satisfaction surveys or feedback from leadership meetings), identifies and communicates areas of focus and continuous improvement opportunities.Product Roadmaps:
Based on region-specific clinical or business needs, strategies, and current/emerging trends, provides input for product owners, who will work with technology vendors on key clinical needs, required features, and research to provide input into product development roadmaps. Supports the preparation and distribution of any region-specific communications including, but not limited to the following: change coordination, technology maintenance windows, system outages, system outage updates, and service restorations. Understands and applies core business and clinical processes and how each is enabled through Technology capabilities. Understands how to define/review high level business requirements to describe the business needs and the scope of the solution. Gain knowledge of prior investments in similar solutions and the degree of success / lessons learned from those initiatives. Understands fundamental business and clinical segment goals, strategies, and plans - as well as business unit critical success factors. Ensures that Technology is consulted early in the product/process lifecycle and can provide initial feedback to the business - integrate with business segment staff meetings to greatest degree possible. Understands, describes, and facilitates discussion of the rationale that supports business segment prioritization of a proposed solution. Represents and guides business and clinical customers through the Technology project budgeting and forecasting process. Guides clinical/business leaders through the technology governance/decisioning process at key decision points to represent and be an advisor to the business owner of projects by understanding the business case, alternatives, limitations, constraints, dependencies, as well as benefits of the proposed solution in terms of TCO as well as business-based return, such as increased margin, profitability, reduced COGS, etc. Works with Key Business stakeholders to facilitate and bridge communication and facilitate Technology change with the Technology organization. Assist with review and approval of invoices within the assigned scope of approval to ensure prompt processing and payment in accordance with the approved vendor contract terms and conditions. Required Leadership/Interpersonal Skills Understands value realization, and of the measurement and reporting of value realization. Understands business case development process and can oversee execution of the business case development process. Understands how to establish a common definition of value for business and Technology and how to communicate to leaders. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Management, or a related field, or equivalent experience required. Master's degree preferred. 5+ years of progressive leadership experience managing enterprise application portfolios supporting complex business environments. 10+ years or more leading Technology/Business management activities of varying complexity and scope. Professional Certifications a plus (e.g., PMI, ITIL, and Lean/Six Sigma). Experience in the field of Radiology (RIS, PACS, clinically, operationally or technically, etc.) Demonstrated success in communicating with key stakeholders at senior levels of the organization. Demonstrated success managing managed service providers and vendor ecosystems.
