Job Description

Director of Community Living & Student Support SUMMARY Responsible for the leadership, development, and administration of a comprehensive Community Living and Student Support program that enhances the residential student experience and advances student success at the College. Leads an integrated Student Support Hub model that connects residence life, community standards and student conduct, case management, success coaching, and campus partnerships into a coordinated 24/7 support system serving an approximately 400-student, all apartment-style single-room residential complex. Advances a holistic, human services-informed residential environment that promotes belonging, independence, shared responsibility, wellness, and student persistence within an apartment-style community. Oversees residential operations, staffing, programming, assessment, and budget and contract management while collaborating with campus partners to support a safe, engaging, and student-centered residential experience. Residency in a designated on-campus apartment is required as a condition of employment. Maintains a visible presence in the residential community, including evenings and weekends, and participates in on-call rotation and responds to emergencies.
NATURE AND SCOPE
Responsible for establishing and advancing a shared vision for Community Living and Student Support aligned with institutional priorities for student success, retention, engagement, and enrollment growth, an approximately 400-bed, all apartment-style single-room residential community. Leads the design and continuous improvement of the Student Support Hub, integrating residence life, community standards and student conduct, case management, success coaching, and campus partnerships. Advances a proactive, human services-informed residential model that promotes wellness, academic progress, belonging, and life skills development within an apartment-style environment. Oversees community standards and student conduct processes using developmental, restorative, and case-informed approaches while promoting a "Good Neighbor" philosophy and intentional community engagement strategies. Develops and implements residential programming focused on wellness, life skills, financial literacy, leadership development, engagement, independent living, and student success. Partners with Financial Aid, Student Accounts, Health & Wellness, Student Activities, Public Safety, and other campus partners to support coordinated student success, retention, behavioral intervention, and integrated systems of care. Serves as a member of the CARE (Campus Advocacy, Referral, and Education) team, supporting the integration of residential life into campus-wide behavioral intervention, case coordination, and student support systems. Oversees residential operations, including housing administration, occupancy management, assignments, facilities coordination, inspections, maintenance, safety compliance, contracts, and related administrative systems. Collaborates with Facilities and Public Safety on maintenance coordination, emergency preparedness, prevention initiatives, crisis management, and coordinated residential incident response. Ensures accurate recordkeeping, reporting, assessment, compliance, and effective use of student success and CRM technology platforms, including systems such as Maxient and Slate, to support communication, referrals, engagement tracking, and data-informed retention initiatives. Provides leadership, supervision, development, and evaluation of residential staff and student employees while maintaining a highly visible presence within the residential community and leading or coordinating response to critical incidents and emergencies. Serves as liaison for Title IX-related residential matters, ensuring compliance and coordination of supportive measures. Manages the housing operating budget and contracts associated with the associated with residence hall operations. Participates in campus collaborations and serves on College and Faculty Student Association committees.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Master's degree in Social Work (MSW), Student Affairs, Higher Education, Counseling, or related field and three (3) years of experience or Bachelor's degree with a minimum of five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in residence life, student affairs, or a human services setting, including case management or student support experience.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Licensure or progress toward licensure, either Licensed Master Social Worker or Licensed Clinical Social Worker, and five (5) of leadership experience with overseeing integrated student support functions in a community college with apartment-style housing. Experience using student information software, such as Maxient, Slate, or similar platforms, with data-informed retention or student success initiatives.
Salary:
$80,141.57 All employment offers are subject to the successful completion of a background check. AA/EOE
