Job Description
About us Five Horizons Health Services (FHHS) is a nonprofit community-based organization that provides high-quality, patient-centered medical, prevention, testing, and case management services in 7 locations across the Alabama Black Belt and East Mississippi.
Position Purpose:
The Director of Compliance is responsible for RSR, HIPAA, OSHA, Policy Management, Audit Management, and ensuring FHHS operates within the guidelines of all healthcare regulatory frameworks.Reports To:
Chief Systems Officer Essential Functions:
RSR- Collaborate with the EMR Department and other applicable departments to ensure data collection requirements for the Ryan White Service Report (RSR) are met
- Prepare and submit the annual RSR report for the full system
- Ensure RSR data is included in CQI activities, when applicable HIPAA
- Serve as the HIPAA Privacy Officer for the full system
- In collaboration with the HIPAA Security Officer, create, implement, and enforce the
FHHS HIPAA
Privacy and Security Program- Ensure that
FHHS' HIPAA
privacy policies and procedures sufficiently protect the organization's ePHI and PHI; Develop policies and procedures which are up to date with relevant state and federal laws- Monitor the annual HIPAA workforce training for the organization
- In collaboration with the HIPAA Security Officer, conduct HIPAA security risk assessments to monitor administrative, physical, technical, and organizational safeguards
- Investigate and address security incidents regarding potential ePHI or PHI breaches Policy
- Ensure the development of a system-wide policy creation and monitoring system
- Collaborate with HR to ensure publication and distribution of all relevant agency policies
- Ensure familiarization of staff with system-wide policies, SOPs, and work procedures
- Ensure adherence to regulatory compliance with standards, norms, and other regulatory requirements by collaborating with departmental leadership
- Consistently analyze, monitor, and enhance organizational policies OSHA
- Oversee the OSHA program for the full system
- Work with a cross-functional team to establish, execute, and maintain OSHA program requirements and to make necessary improvements System-wide Compliance
- Develop Compliance Program Plan for the full system
- Develop mechanisms and processes to monitor system-wide compliance
- Provide ongoing education to FHHS staff on best practices regarding healthcare compliance
- Develop and review organization-wide compliance training programs, ensuring content remains current with regulatory requirements
- Complete system-wide trainings Administrative
- Supervise Compliance Manager
- Actively participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team
- Actively participate in Five Wide meetings Audit Management
- Direct organizational readiness and execution of site visits
- Coordinate with departments to ensure accuracy and availability of all documents
- Maintain a comprehensive knowledge of all grant-specific requirements
- Attend relevant site visits and actively participate
- Complete Tri-Annual Report Additional Requirements
- Maintain strict attention to detail
- Complete all tasks fully and according to specifications
- Organize work effectively and demonstrate responsibility
- Meet attendance requirements consistently
- Work independently with limited supervision
- Comply with all FHHS core policies and procedures
- Interact positively with co-workers, managers, supervisors, clients, and vendors, representing FHHS professionally Physical Requirements
- Lift at least 30 pounds
- Carry, push, and pull occasionally
- Adapt to varying work hours, including evenings, nights, and multiple locations
- Engage with a diverse population
- Stand or sit for extended periods
- Participate in training sessions, presentations, and meetings Work Environment
- In-office, remote, or hybrid position
- Requires occasional travel to all sites in the full system
Education/Professional:
- Minimum of 3-5 years of experience in healthcare compliance, HIPAA, healthcare operations, or related field required
- Master's degree in healthcare, business, or other applicable field preferred
- Working knowledge of HIPAA, OSHA, and general healthcare regulatory frameworks required
