Job Description

Summary We are seeking a Director of Compliance/Registered Nurse Assessment Coordinator to join our team at Laurel View Village. This dual pivotal role will oversee compliance with healthcare regulations and standards, ensuring that our community operates within legal frameworks while providing the highest quality of care to our residents.

Nursing Home Administrator (NHA)
PRIOR RNAC EXPERIENCE IS REQUIRED!
Purpose:
The RNAC is responsible for MDS/Comprehensive Assessments, Coordination of resident care and treatment.
Primary Job Duties:
  • Tracks due dates of comprehensive/MDS assessments and quarterly reviews.
  • Tracks care-planning due dates.
  • Assists with staff education, in-services and orientation as needed.
  • Enters assessment data including information for MDS, RAP, Triggers, and Rugs into the computer.
  • Validates all assessments when completed.
  • Assures all disciplines sign the MDS Assessment.
  • Completes the Trigger sheet and RAP Summary and determines the need to proceed/not proceed with care planning on each triggered item.
  • Coordinates Interdisciplinary Care Planning Meetings, notifies all departments of the schedule and contacts family members about scheduled meetings.
  • Develops baseline care plans, comprehensive, and reviews care plans per established schedule every 90 days at the Care Plan Meeting.
  • Attends Grand Rounds Weekly with Healthcare Leadership Team.
  • Initiates Baseline Care Plans upon admission of all new Residents and schedules 72-hour meeting with responsible parties and/or residents.
  • Works closely with Therapy provider and/billing office for purposes of PDPM and Triple Check.
  • Reviews the Care Plan with the individual resident/family as they desire but at minimum quarterly.
  • Completes other forms as needed including MA51s, insurance forms, medical evaluations, etc.
  • Performs random physical assessments on residents as needed.
  • Consults with physicians as needed for additional care or treatment orders based on assessment findings.
  • Instructs nursing personnel on any new care or treatment orders and assesses compliance.
  • Counsels' personnel as needed in conjunction with Director of Nursing
  • Performs and completes corrective action as needed in conjunction with Director of Nursing
  • Provides instruction to nursing personnel on assessment techniques.
  • Provides instruction to nursing personnel on charting requirements and assesses compliance.
  • Provide relief for Lead RNAC, Director of Nursing and RN Supervisor as necessary and directed by Administrator or Director of Nursing
  • Assist as hands on RN when needed on the unit.
  • Make periodic rounds to ensure quality resident care.
  • Perform venipunctures to obtain blood specimens whenever necessary.
  • Performs any other registered nursing procedure approved by the Comm. Of PA and the Nurse Practice Act as required.
  • Interprets doctor's orders to residents and provides instruction to residents when appropriate.
  • Educates the residents, family members and nursing personnel through the use of nursing knowledge and skills according to their needs to promote their mental and physical well-being.
  • Reports and documents significant information through established oral and written processes according to facility policy and procedures.
  • Displays effective leadership skills and sets good examples for staff, thus promoting interpersonal relationships and developing staff morale.
  • has thorough comprehension of Medicare and Medicaid regulations.
  • Identifies and studies nursing service problems and assists in their solution utilizing the QA process.
  • Keeps apprised of the developments in nursing practice through continuing education and in-service attendance.
  • Monitors M.D. visits to meet regulatory compliance.
  • Performs QA on a quarterly or more basis and is a member of QA Council.
  • Reviews charting forms periodically and updates, revises, or develops forms as needed.
  • Keeps privileged information about residents confidential according to HIPAA guidelines.
  • Upholds Laurel View Village's Code of Conduct and follows Corporate Compliance guidelines per the LVV Employee Handbook.
  • Other duties as directed by the Director of Nursing and/or Administrator.
  • Completes annual compliance and HIPAA training and exhibits behavior as set forth by the Code of Compliance in the performance of their duties.
  • Adheres to the Organizations Policies and Procedures regarding the Compliance Program of the organization and is timely in reporting any concerns.
  • Follows all local, state, and federal regulations as they pertain to their position.
  • Adheres to the Organization's Policies and Procedures covering Privacy and Security in Compliance with HIPAA regulations.
Educational and Experience Requirements:
Graduate of an accredited school of nursing. Possession of a valid license issued by the Commonwealth of PA in good standing. Minimum of 2 years recent RNAC experience withing Long Term Care within the past 3 years (preferred) Possession of RAC-CT Certification (preferred)
Other Requirements:
Have ability to organize, plan and coordinate with other resident services. Be of good emotional and mental health and be able to use sound judgment and have high professional standards. Completion of an accredited assessment course preferred. Basic typing skills or computer skills would be helpful. Experience with Electronic Medical Records (EMR)
Working Conditions:
May be exposed to infectious waste and disease (including
COVID-19
HBV and HIV). Moves throughout nursing facility during workday. Must be able to cope with emotional and hostile residents, families, guests, staff, and other visitors. Will be required to work after regular work hours, on holidays, and on weekends. May be required to lift a minimum of fifty (50) pounds.
