Director of finance
This is a high visibility leadership opportunity for a finance professional who has successfully supported complex business operations, ideally across multiple companies, multiple locations, or multiple revenue streams. The ideal candidate will bring the confidence, structure, and executive presence needed to partner closely with ownership and senior leadership while helping guide continued growth. This position offers compensation up to $170K, based on experience, along with bonus opportunity, comprehensive benefits, and relocation assistance available for the right candidate. The Director of Finance will oversee financial operations across a sizable and expanding business, including leadership over two Controllers. This person will be expected to bring strong financial discipline, accurate reporting, strategic recommendations, and a forward-thinking approach to systems, processes, controls, and scalability. Key Responsibilities Lead overall financial strategy, accounting operations, reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and financial analysis. Partner with ownership and executive leadership to provide financial insight that supports business planning, profitability, growth, and long term decision making. Oversee, support, and develop two Controllers while helping strengthen accountability, consistency, and performance across the finance function. Manage financial activity across a multi entity organization with significant revenue volume and operational complexity. Provide leadership over accounting functions including general ledger, AP, AR, month end close, reconciliations, cash flow, financial reporting, and internal controls. Evaluate current processes, reporting structures, and systems to identify opportunities for improvement, automation, efficiency, and stronger financial visibility. Support budgeting, forecasting, financial modeling, KPI tracking, and executive level reporting. Ensure accuracy, compliance, and consistency in financial practices across the organization. Serve as a trusted financial partner to leadership, bringing both strategic vision and hands on follow through. What We're Looking For Approximately seven plus years of progressive finance, accounting, or financial management experience. Prior experience supporting an organization with approximately $80M to $100M in revenue. Experience overseeing finance or accounting teams, ideally including Controller level leadership. Experience working within a multi company, multi location, retail, distribution, manufacturing, service, or operationally complex business environment is strongly preferred. Strong understanding of AP, AR, general ledger, financial reporting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and internal controls. ERP experience required. CPA certification is a plus, but not required. Strong executive communication skills with the ability to translate financial data into meaningful business guidance. Process improvement mindset with the ability to bring structure, clarity, and scalable financial practices. Ability to balance strategic leadership with practical, hands on involvement when needed.
