Job Description

Overview We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Director of Health and Wellness to lead our comprehensive health services and wellness programs across our senior living communities. This pivotal role combines strategic leadership with hands-on management, ensuring the delivery of exceptional care tailored to residents' needs. The ideal candidate will possess a passion for enhancing quality of life, a deep understanding of healthcare regulations, and proven expertise in managing multidisciplinary teams within assisted living, nursing home, home health, or hospice care settings. Responsibilities Develop and implement comprehensive health and wellness strategies aligned with organizational goals and regulatory standards such as Medicare, HIPAA, and state licensing requirements. Oversee nursing administration, including supervision of nurse management staff, ensuring high-quality resident care and effective shift management. Lead the coordination of care plans by collaborating with interdisciplinary teams to meet residents' medical, emotional, and social needs. Manage medical records, documentation review, and ensure compliance with EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems and EHR (Electronic Health Records) protocols. Supervise the assessment process for residents' physiology and anatomy knowledge to inform personalized care approaches. Monitor adherence to healthcare regulations related to assisted living, nursing home operations, hospice care, home health services, and acute care standards. Facilitate ongoing staff training on medical terminology, documentation practices, HIPAA compliance, and best practices in nurse management. Oversee the implementation of care plans focusing on resident safety, comfort, and overall well-being while managing resources efficiently. Ensure accurate coding and documentation for MDS (Minimum Data Set) assessments critical for Medicare reimbursement. Lead quality assurance initiatives by reviewing medical records, documentation accuracy, and compliance audits to uphold high standards of care. Experience Proven management experience in assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or related healthcare environments with supervising responsibilities. Extensive background in nursing administration with a strong understanding of resident's rights and regulatory compliance such as HIPAA and Medicare guidelines. Demonstrated leadership skills in managing multidisciplinary teams including nurses, caregivers, therapists, and administrative staff. Familiarity with EMR/EHR systems used in healthcare settings for documentation review and resident record management. Knowledge of medical terminology, physiology, anatomy relevant to senior care populations. Experience coordinating care within hospice or home health programs is highly desirable. Strong understanding of shift management practices to ensure continuous quality care delivery across all hours of operation. Join us as we champion health excellence in senior living!
