Director of Hospitality

Summary Linden Vineyards is seeking a Director of Hospitality. One of the East Coast's premier wineries, Linden Vineyards is located in the Blue Ridge Mountains, 60 miles west of Washington DC. We are a family-run business that emphasizes learning and staff engagement. Our tasting room is focused on in-depth, comparative tastings to groups of four adults or less. Key roles and responsibilities of the position include serving as lead in the tasting room, creating an exception guest experience, hiring and managing tasting room staff, responding to customer questions and requests, coordinating and supporting small events (seminars, library tastings), presenting at external events, and managing of our twice per year wine club allocations. There is opportunity to contribute on a larger scale to industry outreach, wine education, creative marketing, and operations. We are looking for a self-starter with experience in hospitality and interest in wine. The role requires organization and management skills, basic computer competencies, and excellent verbal and written communication. Weekend availability (Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 10am to 5:30pm) is essential. This is a full-time role starting at $60,000 with health insurance available. Duties Serve as lead in the the tasting room during opening hours of Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. Supervise the tasting room team, including hiring, training, and management. Organize our twice per year wine club allocations. Support small events (~20 people) such as seminars, library tastings, and barrel tastings. Host industry visits and maintain external relationships. Manage Square POS system and customer database. Ensure supplies and inventory, including ordering. Requirements 3+ years of hospitality or food & beverage leadership (winery or restaurant preferred) Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, guest-focused environment Availability on weekends (Friday, Saturday, Sunday from 10am to 5:30pm). Excellent communication skills, including verbal and written. Proficiency with POS systems, databases, and basic computer skills.
