Job Description:

Our client, an apparel company, is looking for a Director of Merchandising/Design for sleepwear to join their team in NYC! Responsibilities Lead the design and merchandising strategy for sleepwear, developing cohesive seasonal assortments that align with brand vision and drive commercial success. Analyze sales performance, customer insights, and market trends to refine assortments, identify growth opportunities, and optimize product mix. Manage and mentor design and merchandising teams, fostering creativity, accountability, and strong cross-functional collaboration. Partner with sales, marketing, and retail teams to support go-to-market strategies, key launches, and retailer-specific assortments. Qualifications 8+ years of experience in sleepwear, intimates, or related apparel categories, with a strong background in both design and merchandising. Proven ability to build commercially successful assortments for mid-tier to premium markets, including experience with major retailers or private label. Strong leadership skills with experience managing and developing cross-functional teams. Deep understanding of fabrics, fit, and construction specific to sleepwear, along with global sourcing and production processes. Highly analytical and trend-driven, with the ability to balance creative direction and business performance.
