CEO Position Summary:
The Director of Nursing will have the overall responsibility for the clinical operations related to patient care services of Johnson County Hospital. This position has responsibilities for the management of patient care operations and will assure that activities and/or operations at JCH are appropriately integrated into the strategic plan. The DON will at all times ensure the provision of quality care and services through the cost-effective management of hospital operations. The DON is accountable for establishing productive working relationships with the medical staff and ancillary departments, and being responsive to community needs. The DON demonstrates behavior consistent with organizational mission, vision, customer service standards, and strategic goals. The DON participates with leaders from the governing body, administration, medical staff, and team managers in planning and conducting facility-wide performance improvement initiatives.
DutiesResponsibilities:
Directs and manages all aspects of hospital/organization operations effectively and efficiently. Oversees day-to-day clinical operations, which includes problem solving issues and insuring effective processing. Facilitates quality assurance activities. Assists with development of department procedures to ensure consistent and accurate processing. Ensures service levels are achieved and maintained. Makes adjustments where necessary to meet service level requirements. Facilitates development and use of electronic processes related to patient care delivery and documentation. Monitors and facilitates compliance with State and Federal regulations to include but not limited to CMS, COBRA/EMTALA, Meaningful Use. Recruits and develops a qualified and productive workforce. Develops and updates department job descriptions. Assures the orientation of new nursing employees is appropriate and thorough. Offers opportunity for continuing education by sharing own knowledge, accessing internal opportunities, and considering external opportunities to support the continued development of department staff. Ensures the compliance of staff in regards to maintaining required licenses and certifications, as applicable. Performs employee relations functions effectively to promote a positive work environment, influence retention and enhance communication. Develops, supports and actively seeks activities and establishes an environment that promotes recognition and retention for employees. Communicates effectively and provides feedback to staff which may include department meetings, individual employee meetings, rounding, etc.... Addresses employee issues in an effective and timely manner. Communicates with department leadership and executive leadership regarding employee issues appropriately in an effort to obtain guidance and reduce potential organizational liability. Enforces and interprets policies and procedures with employees, as necessary. Facilitates annual performance appraisal process for staff. Financial operations. Participates in annual budgeting planning process. Follows HIPAA regulations and ensures that the confidentiality of patients' medical, personal, financial records, employee records, and organizational records are maintained. Complies with the state and federal regulatory requirements related to the performance of JCH operations and requirements of the JCH Compliance Program.

Seeks opportunities for continued growth and performance improvement. Always maintains a professional appearance and manner. Dependable and completes work in a timely manner. QualificationsSkills:
Education and/or Experience Bachelor's Degree in Nursing, minimum Five to ten years management experience preferred. Certificates, Licensure, Registrations Current licensure by the
Nebraska State Board of Nursing, BLS, ACLS, NRP, TNCC Additional Information:
Supervisory Responsibilities All Nursing Departments, Cardiac Rehab and Utilization Review Consultant responsibilities Outreach Clinics/Surgery Security/Access Will have access to hospital 24 hours a day. Will have access to confidential information abiding by the organizations privacy policies and regulations concerning this information. Will have access to computer program currently used for patient record keeping
