Responsible for the day-to-day management of the overall operations for MME Group. This position is responsible for the Safety, Quality and Productivity of all production operations to ensure that it meets or exceeds the requirements of the customer. Regularly reviews the performance of all areas of production which they are responsible for and determines the best tactics and strategies to employ to meet the needs of the business and the customer. Follows-up on task assignments to assess progress and produce the intended results. Participates and/or reviews project/program teams, in a variety of roles, ensuring that they are carried through to logical conclusion with the intended results attained. Works closely with the management team, staff, and employees. Participates in regular meetings and provides continual: information, motivation, coaching, and direction for all levels of the company. Establishes one-on-one relationships with key customers, and potential new customers, in order that we continually reinforce our position with them. Assists with the recruiting and hiring process and maintains a team of competent managerial, supervisory, technical, and production personnel. Acts as a Trainer, Mentor, and Counselor as needs dictate. Understands and applies sound personnel management practices to enable subordinates to succeed. Oversee personally or through subordinates the following areas: Molding operations including execution. Quality Control and deployment of quality throughout the areas of functional responsibility. New Products (including tooling) support pre-production qualification and process control development.Personnel:
Training, Development, Performance Appraisals, and Compensation Equipment repair, upgrades. Ensures equipment up-time is maximized. Capital Equipment Planning, Selection, and Qualification. Must have the ability to hold subordinates accountable for their performance and drive the correct behavior of the organization through the consistent application of sound management principles. Must be clear and concise with thinking, actions, and communications with all levels within the company, with customers, and with suppliers. Completes all performance appraisals on time and in a fair and objective manner. Reviews all performance appraisals completed by subordinates thereby ensuring objectivity and fairness. Signs all performance appraisals for which they have functional responsibility. Assists the salesforce as needed with customer visits and presentations to secure and/or enhance our business relationship with them. Dissemination and adherence to company policies and procedures including Quality, Safety, Compensation, Employee, and Employment. Engages with peers, direct reports, and other employees in a manner that is effective to ensure that goals of the business are met efficiently, cost effectively, and in a timely manner. Participates in the budgeting and business planning processes and regularly reviews performance against plan. Understands why variances exist and has tactical plans to correct them. This position will have a high degree of autonomy for operational leadership including development of goals and objectives, planning, resource allocation, plan implementation, controlling the outcome to achieve planned goals, results measurement (for people and processes), and modification of efforts to achieve results. This manager will work closely with the President to ensure proper continuity and professional engagement allowing the Director, Operations to work freely to develop subordinates. A successful manager in this position, working within the MME Group, Inc. culture, should demonstrate the ability to use a servant leadership style to deliver results. Can authorize purchases of materials, supplies and services to the extent needed for customer jobs, minimal stock maintenance levels, and routine production and maintenance supply needs.Is responsible for the following:
Evaluates machinery/equipment needs to grow the business and meet future customer needs. Administers the salary planning and wage administration for the areas for which they are responsible. Deployment of the Performance Appraisal, Compensation Plan, and Wage Administration activities in those areas for which they are responsible. Evaluation of staffing levels, including the hiring, discipline, layoff, and termination of employees. KPIs based on safety, quality, delivery, and cost. Support internal and external corrective actions. Assists the sales growth of the company through meeting current and new customer needs and by developing new products and services within the current capabilities, and planned capability, of the tool room and molding work areas. Contributes to the decision-making process in the selection and specification of capital equipment.Qualifications and Skill Requirements:
Education:
4-year engineering degree with an emphasis on manufacturing or industrial management or related field preferred.Experience:
Minimum of 7 years working in injection molding industry with an emphasis on: tool design, plastic injection molding and assembly, and overall manufacturing operations management. Increasing levels of responsibility and authority including personnel management and budgeting (financial) should be evident; 10 years of specific industry experience with demonstrated know-how.Skills:
Must be action and goal oriented to deliver results through the application of a wide range of skills and management ability; Must be able to assess his/her subordinates and put in place personnel improvements plans that meet the current and future needs of business; Must have very good communications skills and be able to relate effectively with employees, customers, and vendors; Must be a creative and visionary individual who can think in both macro and micro terms; The successful manager must be able to think/act in Strategic terms (10% of the time) and act in a tactical manner (90% of the time) to achieve the results that support the strategic initiatives of the company.Knowledge:
Must have a fundamental understanding of the capabilities of the equipment on the shop floor to readily produce quality products to meet customer needs; Must have good basic compute and software application skills including all practical knowledge of some form of production tracking software; proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Applications; The measure of success is the actual results obtained, not the effort expended.Abilities:
A demonstrated affinity for customer satisfaction and customer service; must be an effective leader that is able to delegate his responsibilities and authority to their subordinates, guiding, coaching without micromanaging their actives; must be able to handle multiple tasks concurrently and prioritize them for timely; An excellent problem solver; Building effective relationships with the workforce and other members of the MME Group, Inc. staff.Physical:
Walking and stair climbing is required within the office/shop areas. Visiting customer sites may be required. Sitting, standing, turning the head and torso, reaching, grasping, bending and flexing of the arms, legs, wrists and fingers are physical requirements. Must have correctable eyesight, good depth perception and color vision. The position must be able to lift a minimum of 30 lbs unaided. Work extensively gazing at computer screens while doing data entry. Work with a computer and its applicable software.Mental:
