SUMMARY OF POSITION FUNCTIONS
The Director of Plant Operations is a hands-on position that provides oversight and direction in the day-to-day operations of Plant Operations/Grounds, and Environmental Services including development of job descriptions, procedures and policies, safety and regulatory systems and agencies, federal state and local. Responsible 24 hours per day for all building systems, equipment maintenance and repair in Independent, Assisted Living, Health Care, the Provincial House, St. Joseph Chapel, and St. Joseph Place. Maintains contact with residents, visitors, and contractors daily, although interaction may be intermittent or brief. The Director projects a friendly, helpful manner and displays a professional appearance and attitude.ESSENTIAL POSITION FUNCTIONS 1.
Manages department expenses and capital projects. 2. Delegates and supervises the day-to-day operation of the departments as assigned. 3. Monitors and approves purchase orders for all department requests or needs. 4. Consistently monitor all products and costs to ensure best quality and pricing. 5. Responsible for long-term campus Master Plan of plant operations. 6. Plans, organizes, develops, implements, evaluates and directs the Department, its programs, activities and budget. 7. Work closely with the CFO to prepare and monitor departmental budgets and to operate within or below mandated budget. 8. Ensures compliance with all Holy Cross Village policies, performs in-depth annual physical plant inspections to ensure policy adherence, quality standards and determines capital needs. 9. Locates, engages, coordinates and evaluates all sub-contractors and service providers to ensure professionalism, cost and service. 10. Develops and implements the safety program including monthly safety meetings, regular fire and disaster in-services and drills, and documenting the safety programs to prevent or correct unsafe environmental working conditions. 11. Responsible for scheduling work schedules and the hiring and discipline of staff. 12.Serves on the following committees:
a. Capital Improvement Committee, Safety Committee, Continuous Quality Improvement Committee, Life Safety Committee, Legionella Committee 13. Attend followingResident/Management Meetings:
a. Dujarie Resident Council, Schubert House Meetings, Employee Orientation, Resident Orientation, Coffee Break, Dujarie/Schubert Management Meetings, Independent Living Management Meetings 14. Comply with the facility's privacy practices and procedures related to resident and employee records and all state/federal privacy laws as outlined byHIPAA. 15.
Utilizes a computerized maintenance management service (Workorders, Preventative Maintenance)Note:
