Director of Quality/Infection Preventionist

Position Summary The Director of Quality and Infection Preventionist is a combined leadership role responsible for directing the facility's Quality Assurance and Performance Improvement (QAPI) program and Infection Prevention and Control (IPC) program. This individual ensures ongoing compliance with CMS Conditions of Participation for IRFs, Louisiana Department of Health (LDH) standards, and applicable accreditation requirements. Key Responsibilities Develop, coordinate, and oversee the facility's QAPI program including data collection, analysis, and reporting Design and implement the infection prevention and control program in accordance with CMS and LDH requirements Serve as the facility's designated Infection Preventionist Conduct infection surveillance, investigation, trending, and mandatory reporting Develop, maintain, and update infection control and quality improvement policies and procedures Provide education to staff on QAPI initiatives and infection prevention practices Prepare quality and infection control reports for facility leadership and the governing body Collaborate with interdisciplinary departments to identify and address performance improvement opportunities Maintain facility compliance with all applicable federal, state, and accreditation standards Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, Public Health, or a related clinical field required; Master's degree preferred Current clinical licensure as applicable (Registered Nurse preferred) Certification in Infection Control (CIC) preferred, or willingness to obtain within a defined timeframe Minimum two (2) years of experience in quality management and/or infection prevention in an acute or post-acute setting Familiarity with CMS Conditions of Participation for Inpatient Rehabilitation Facilities preferred Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills Equal Opportunity Employer Serenity Oaks Inpatient Rehabilitation Hospital is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
