  • Exempt
  • South Florida (Miami-Dade / Broward)
  • Reports to the Ownership Group Position Summary YMW Security LLC is a licensed Florida security services firm protecting schools, luxury residential properties, houses of worship, and commercial clients across South Florida.
We are hiring a Director of Security to own the operational health of the business: every post staffed, every officer trained, every client confident that the people guarding their property are the best in the market. This is a senior leadership role reporting directly to ownership. The Director of Security is accountable for service delivery, compliance, officer performance, and client retention across the entire YMW portfolio. The right person is part operator, part field leader, and part business builder — comfortable on a Saturday-night incident call and equally comfortable in a Monday-morning client review. Key Responsibilities Service Delivery & Field Operations Own day-to-day execution at every YMW post — schools, residential buildings, houses of worship, and commercial sites. Build and enforce post orders, SOPs, and shift checklists for every account; conduct unannounced site inspections on a published cadence.
Lead incident response:
serve as the on-call escalation point for serious incidents, coordinate with local law enforcement, and produce after-action reports for clients. Manage the weekly schedule and overtime budget; maintain coverage during call-outs, no-shows, and surges without exception. People & Performance Recruit, screen, hire, and onboard security officers and field supervisors; build a bench so coverage is never a single point of failure. Run the YMW training program — onboarding curriculum, post-specific training, refreshers, and use-of-force and de-escalation standards. Set and manage KPIs for officers and supervisors (attendance, post-checks completed, incident reports filed, client feedback). Discipline and terminate underperforming staff in accordance with company policy and Florida employment law. Compliance & Licensing Maintain YMW's Florida Class D agency license and all officer-level licensing requirements under Chapter 493, Florida Statutes. Keep a clean audit file on every officer: license status, training records, I-9, drug screen, background check, and uniform issuance. Ensure full compliance with FLSA wage-and-hour rules, Florida workers' compensation requirements, and client-specific contractual standards. Manage relationships with the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (FDACS) Division of Licensing as needed. Client Relationships Serve as the senior YMW point of contact for property managers, school administrators, synagogue boards, and HOA leadership. Run monthly or quarterly client reviews: site performance, incident trends, officer changes, and recommendations. Resolve service complaints quickly and document corrective action; protect renewal at every account. Support new business by walking prospective sites, drafting scopes of work, and helping ownership win the right accounts. Business & Reporting Own the operations
P&L:
bill rate vs. pay rate, overtime, uniforms, equipment, and supervisor cost per account. Report weekly to ownership on staffing health, open posts, incidents, client status, and pipeline. Identify opportunities to add value (technology upgrades, additional hours, armed coverage) at existing accounts. Help integrate future acquisitions and bolt-on contracts into the YMW operating model. Required Qualifications Minimum 5 years of progressive leadership experience in contract security services, law enforcement, military, or executive protection — with at least 2 years managing multiple posts or a multi-site portfolio. Active Florida Class D Security Officer license (Class MB Manager license preferred; required within 60 days of hire if not already held). Working knowledge of Chapter 493, Florida Statutes, and FDACS Division of Licensing requirements. Demonstrated ability to build schedules, manage overtime, and keep posts covered through call-outs and turnover. Strong incident command skills and the judgment to make decisions under pressure. Professional written and verbal communication — capable of speaking credibly with HOA boards, school principals, synagogue leadership, and law enforcement. Clean background check, valid Florida driver's license, and reliable personal vehicle. Comfortable being on-call outside business hours; security is a 24/7 business. Preferred Qualifications Florida Class G (armed) license. Experience operating in K-12 or higher education environments. Experience protecting houses of worship or other faith-based facilities. Familiarity with scheduling and timekeeping platforms (TrackTik, Officer Reports, Deputy, or equivalent). Bilingual English/Spanish. Prior experience integrating an acquired security book of business. What We Offer Competitive base salary commensurate with experience, plus performance bonus tied to client retention, gross margin, and growth. Vehicle, phone, and equipment allowance. Paid time off and standard company holidays. Direct line to ownership and the autonomy to build the operation the right way. A clear growth path as YMW scales across South Florida and into adjacent markets.
