The right candidate must have strong leadership skills and excellent communication skills.
Position Summary:
The School Director/Asst Director is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the school while ensuring a safe, nurturing, and high-quality educational environment for children, families, and faculty. The Director provides leadership to staff, maintains compliance with state licensing regulations and Goddard Quality Assurance standards, supports enrollment growth, and builds strong relationships within the school community. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Administration Oversee daily school operations and ensure compliance with all state licensing regulations and company policies Maintain Goddard Quality Assurance standards and promote excellence throughout the school Create a positive, professional, and supportive school culture Manage schedules, staffing, and classroom coverage Staff Management Recruit, hire, train, mentor, and evaluate faculty and staff Conduct quarterly staff meetings, coaching sessions, and performance evaluations Foster teamwork, professionalism, and ongoing professional development Support teacher retention and employee engagement Curriculum & Program Oversight Ensure implementation of The Goddard School curriculum and educational programs. Support developmentally appropriate practices and classroom excellence. Monitor lesson planning, classroom management, and child assessments Promote a play-based, engaging learning environment Family & Community Engagement Build strong relationships with families through open communication and support Conduct tours if needed and assist with enrollment growth Address parent questions and concerns professionally and promptly Represent the school positively within the community Health, Safety & Compliance Maintain a clean, safe, and healthy school environment Ensure all licensing, health, and safety requirements are consistently met Conduct regular classroom and facility inspections Oversee emergency preparedness procedures Financial & Operational Management Support enrollment goals and retention efforts Assist with budgeting, payroll, and operational expenses Manage supplies, vendor relationships, and facility needs Monitor school performance and operational efficiency Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Education, or related field preferred Director credentials and licensing qualifications as required by the state Minimum of 3 years experience in early childhood education Previous leadership or management experience is required. Strong organizational, communication, and leadership skills Passion for early childhood education and child development Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment Our ideal candidate has strong leadership skills, proactive, confident, and able to juggle multiple tasks. He/She is an excellent communicator, and can motivate and inspire others. This candidate should be able to effectively communicate and work with staff, management and children. A degree in Education and experience running a child-care facility is a must.
