We are seeking a Director
  • Real Property Tax, State and Local Tax Services , to join our State and Local Tax Services team.
They'll be responsible for managing multiple engagement teams and clients in relation to the completion of various real property tax consulting and compliance projects. They'll work to grow the practice by being involved in business development plans, growth strategies, and marketing initiatives. They'll provide timely, high-quality service that meets or exceeds client expectations. Responsibilities are, but not limited to Review real property tax assessments for reduction opportunities, attending hearings on behalf of clients, and tracking related follow-ups with the appropriate jurisdictions. Review and analyze clients' real estate tax assessments for reduction opportunities. Clearly communicate real property tax review procedures to engagement teams. Understand the different capabilities of SALT team members and monitor as well as reviewing their work product to provide feedback on performance during and after the engagement process. Coach, motivate, and develop team members. Communicate extensively with clients to drive expectations and report on the status of ongoing projects. Manage profitability of projects. Identify and communicate real property tax matters, as well as state & local tax matters to the SALT Directors. Subscribe to and actively read industry publications, then share relevant information (as applicable). Provide exceptional service to clients, always serving as a positive brand ambassador. Maintain a network of industry contacts and establish new long-term relationships.
Qualifications The ideal candidate must:
Have a bachelor's and/or master's degree in accounting, business, or another relevant field. Have a minimum of five (5) years of current or recent real property tax consulting experience in the commercial industry. Have experience leading teams and mentoring others. Understand real property tax rules and regulations impacting companies. Have project management experience including balancing workflow, activity scheduling, problem solving facilitation, prioritizing multiple complex tasks, and meeting deadlines. Possess strong communication skills with experience conveying complex SALT-related information and associated business impacts to non-technical audiences. Have experience interacting with clients, establishing credibility, trust and healthy relationships. Possess effective public speaking skills with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations. Have unwavering integrity and ethics demonstrable examples of innovative thinking and problem solving. Be willing and able to travel on occasion, as dictated by business need.
