Job Overview We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented Dispatcher to coordinate transportation operations efficiently and effectively. Responsibilities Coordinate and schedule dispatching of freight using transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management and SyteLine. Monitor GPS and GIS data to track vehicle locations, optimize routes, and ensure on-time deliveries. Communicate effectively with drivers, carriers, and clients via multi-line phone systems while maintaining professional phone etiquette. Enter data accurately into logistics platforms including AS400 and transportation management software to ensure real-time updates. Manage shipping & receiving schedules, freight documentation, and freight status updates to streamline supply chain operations. Utilize analysis skills to troubleshoot routing issues, resolve scheduling conflicts, and improve dispatching efficiency. Maintain detailed records of dispatch activities, shipment statuses, and fleet management logs for reporting purposes. Support shipping & receiving processes by coordinating with warehouse teams using systems like SyteLine and Oracle TMS. Assist in transportation planning by analyzing data related to freight movement, fleet utilization, and logistics performance metrics. Ensure compliance with safety standards and regulations while managing fleet operations through GPS tracking and transportation management systems. Experience Proven experience in dispatching within a logistics or transportation environment is preferred. Strong familiarity with GIS (Geographic Information Systems), GPS tracking tools, and transportation management systems such as Oracle Transportation Management or similar platforms. Knowledge of supply chain processes including shipping & receiving, freight management, and fleet coordination. Demonstrated ability to analyze logistical data to identify opportunities for process improvements. Excellent communication skills with a focus on phone etiquette and professional interaction across multi-line phone systems. Proficiency in data entry with high accuracy using systems like AS400 or SyteLine. Experience working with 3PL (Third Party Logistics) providers or in a freight forwarding environment is a plus.
