Job Description

The Dispatcher plays a critical role in ensuring the safe, efficient, and continuous operation of underground mining activities. This position is responsible for real-time monitoring of personnel, environmental conditions, and critical systems, while maintaining clear and reliable communication between underground operations and surface support. The Dispatcher serves as a central coordination point, supporting emergency preparedness, regulatory compliance, and operational efficiency.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/ACCOUNTABILITIES
Monitors underground air quality and ventilation levels. Maintains real-time awareness of the location of all underground personnel. Maintains continuous radio communication with underground crews. Monitors critical systems electronically to ensure proper operation and promptly reports issues. Maintains a thorough understanding of the mine layout and emergency evacuation procedures. Cleans, calibrates, and maintains records for gas monitoring equipment. Cleans, inspects, and repairs cap lamps; maintains associated records. Demonstrates proficiency in required computer systems and programs. Provides back-office and administrative support, including but not limited to the following: Answering phones and managing incoming communications Uploading and maintaining daily personnel rosters Maintain and distribute daily production reports Maintain and distribute incident reports and related information Scanning, copying, and maintaining documentation Taking and organizing notes as needed for cross-shift

REQUIRED TRAINING, EDUCATION & WORK EXPERIENCE
High School diploma or GED required Annual refresher training
WORKING ENVIRONMENT
Physical & Mental Requirements:
Walking, standing, and sitting at desk. Lifting, bending and stooping. Ability to lift and/or carry up to 40 lbs. Ability to push and/or pull 5-25 lbs. Ability to carry on conversations (speaking and hearing) for extended periods of time. Ability to use keyboard frequently. Ability to work well alone Ability to work with a high level of detail. Rotating Schedule:
4 days on
  • 4 days off 12-hour shifts (7am-7pm or 7pm-7am) Days, Nights, Weekends and Holidays
