PrintMADERA UNIFIED SCHOOL DISTRICT CERTIFICATED JOB DESCRIPTION DISTRICT ACADEMIC COACH
(K-12) Overall Responsibilities Provide leadership, expertise and support at the district and site level for the full implementation of specific core and intervention content in grades K-12. Provide on-going, job-embedded training and support to site level staff to build instructional capacity and effectiveness. Services that are provided will be supplementary to the district's base line program. Works under the direction of an Educational Services Department administrator and does not evaluate any staff. Specific Responsibilities Conducts research and facilitates district level curriculum, instruction, and assessment development. Serves, as a resource in identifying appropriate instructional strategies and interventions to improve student achievement for all students including English learners, students with disabilities and students with diverse learning needs. Serves, as a resource and coach, to support site-level TSA's and Coaches to effectively meet site teacher needs. Provides timely and responsive support to meet teacher needs and site requests. Provides professional development to ensure site level staff are knowledgeable about core and intervention program components and understand the instructional design of how the programs meet the standards. Provides on-going coaching and support for district-wide initiatives supporting teachers Provides coaching and modeling in organizing instruction, lesson design, instructional delivery and assessment related to English language arts, English language development, social studies, science and math. Effective teaching and learning strategies for English Learners, students with disabilities and students with diverse learning needs will be a priority, as needed. Conducts demonstration lessons, one on one observations, coaching and facilitates group observations to ensure site level staff have been trained to an advanced level of delivery and are using the instructional materials as designed, as needed. Assists site level staff in building an interactive classroom environment focused on the content and instructional strategies embedded in the program, as needed. Supports site level staff in collaborative grade level and/or department meetings as assigned to assist in the analysis and utilization of assessment data to improve student achievement, as needed. Prepares forms, records, and reports as directed. Attends meetings and trainings as directed. Maintain professional competence through participation in professional development activities as provided by district, county, state and other consultants. Other related duties as assigned.Qualifications Specific knowledge of:

- Implementation of the components of the Local Control and Accountability Plan and/or LEA plan 2. Laws, policies and procedures applicable to assignments. 3. Contribute to the successful fulfillment of the District Mission. Demonstrates Ability to : Model the implementation of exemplary instructional practices in the following areas:
- Develop, organize and present professional development activities

- Apply new knowledge
- Enhance abilities to provide instruction that increases student learning outcomes Establish and maintain cooperative and effective working relationships with others to implement the components of the Local Control and Accountability Plan and/or LEA Plan.
Education :
Clear and valid California Teaching Credential. Authorization to teach English learners. Advanced course work and/or training in subject matter content, core and intervention curriculum, and instructional strategies specific to the duties of the job. (i.e. Reading Masters, Math Masters, Science Masters, STEM, or Certified Trainer, AB 466/SB472 training and follow-up).Experience:
Five years of successful teaching experience. High level of understanding of the assigned core and intervention subject matter. Experience working with groups in curriculum development or related fields. Experience in planning and delivering professional development activities. Experience in site/teacher leadership roles (i.e., grade/department lead, BTSA support provider, leadership teams, etc.)License:
