8-5Position Description:
The District Billing Management Specialist is responsible for district-level billing operations to ensure accurate payer prioritization, capturing proper patient demographic and insurance information, compliance with medical billing policies and procedures, managing client ledgers and staff training.Position Responsibilities/Essential Functions:
- Own district billing operations end-to-end: charge entry/charge capture support, claim creation/submission, payment posting coordination, denial/rejection management, corrected claims, appeals support, and A/R follow-up.
- Oversee management and reconciliation of client ledgers: credits/adjustments, refunds/recoupments, unapplied cash, account corrections, and aging resolution; ensure documentation supports ledger actions.
- Identify and address coding concerns: validate charge/coding workflows, support documentation improvement, coordinate coding education, and reduce preventable denials.
- Lead claim corrections: research rejections/denials, correct errors, resubmit/appeal within payer filing limits, and implement root-cause fixes with measurable results.
- Produce and present KPI reports and productivity metrics.
- Deliver and maintain training standard work, job aids, SOPs, competency checks; coach staff and operational partners on billing accuracy.
- Serve as district SME for EHR/practice management billing workflows: troubleshoot errors/edits, support build/config changes, coordinate testing, and consult on workflow optimization.
- Ensure billing operations align with agency policies, payer requirements, and confidentiality standards, support audits and corrective actions.
- Assist clinic with vaccine inventory.
- Assist with provider credentialing
- Being present in the office is an essential function of this job

Minimum Qualifications:
Education and Experience requirements at this level consist of an Associate Degree and two (2) years of experience in a health care field, such as public or community health, or health care administration; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Applicants must be willing and able to perform all job-related travel normally associated with this position and possess a valid driver's license.Application Requirements:

Physical Demands and Work Environment:
Work is typically performed in an office setting with climate-controlled settings and exposure to moderate noise levels. While performing the duties of the job, employees are required to talk, stand, walk, and reach with hands and arms. This position requires long periods of sitting and daily use of computers and phones. Employees must be willing to complete all job-related travel associated with this position. Being in the office is an essential function of the position.
