TITLE:
District MTSS Instructional Coach (Teacher on Special Assignment)•Serving Secondary Buildings
REPORTS TO
ASSISTANT
SUPERINTENDENT POSITION GOAL
The MTSS Instructional Coach serves as a critical resource, supporting the professional growth and development of teachers to enhance instructional practices and improve student outcomes. This role involves collaborating with teachers and administrators to identify areas for improvement, designing and delivering targeted professional development, and providing ongoing coaching and support to ensure the effective implementation of programs and instructional strategies.
Qualifications Profile Certification/License:
Valid Ohio teaching license. Motor Vehicle Operator's License or ability to provide own transportation.
Education:
Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university in education discipline applicable to this assignment. Master's Degree preferred.
Experience and Skills Preferred:
At least 5 years of successful teaching experience in K-12 education. Demonstrated success in improving student achievement through effective instructional practices. Strong knowledge of pedagogy, curriculum development, and assessment strategies including a deep understanding of the science of reading. Knowledge of the Multi-Tiered Systems of Support process. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to analyze data and use it to inform instructional decisions. Experience providing coaching or professional development to educators.
TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT
184 day contract + extended days as determined by the Assistant Superintendent
RESPONSIBILITIES AND ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Collaborate with teachers and administrators to assess instructional needs and develop targeted improvement plans. Provide individualized coaching to educators, including modeling effective teaching practices, observing classroom instruction, and providing constructive feedback. Design and facilitate professional development sessions, workshops, and training programs focused on best practices in teaching and learning. Utilize data analysis to identify trends and areas for improvement in instructional practices and student achievement. Support the implementation of curriculum initiatives and instructional programs, ensuring alignment with educational standards and objectives. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging reflection, collaboration, and innovation among educators. Stay informed about current research, trends, and best practices in education to inform coaching and professional development efforts. Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to coordinate efforts and maximize impact. Build relationships with teachers, administrators, and other stakeholders to create a supportive and collaborative learning community. Maintain accurate records of coaching sessions, professional development activities, and progress towards instructional goals.

WORKING CONDITIONS
Exposure to the following situations may range from remote to frequent based on circumstances and factors that may not be predictable: Duties will require operating and/or riding in a vehicle. Duties will require traveling to meetings and work assignments. Duties will require using a computer keyboard and monitor. Duties may require working extended hours.
