Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented District Specialist to lead environmental and agricultural initiatives across multiple regions. This role offers an exciting opportunity to apply your expertise in soils information, mapping, and assisting landowners. As a vital part of our team, you will coordinate efforts with local landowners, collect and analyze environmental data, and ensure compliance with relevant laws. Your proactive approach will help landowners with various cost-share programs. Work in ALL out door conditions. Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive data collection on land use, vegetation, and ecological conditions using GPS devices and GIS software such as ArcGIS. Analyze environmental data to identify trends, assess ecological health, and inform restoration strategies. Perform research on farming practices, horticulture techniques, and environmental laws to support sustainable land management. Coordinate with local agencies, landowners, and community groups to implement ecological restoration projects and tree care initiatives. Utilize GIS tools to map project sites, monitor progress, and optimize resource allocation for conservation efforts. Support field surveys involving plant identification, soil sampling, and habitat assessments to inform decision-making processes. Maintain detailed records of data collection activities, project milestones, and compliance documentation for reporting purposes. General Office duties and additional duties as requested. Experience Proven experience in GIS applications such as ArcGIS or similar mapping software. Strong background in agriculture or ecological restoration with practical fieldwork experience. Demonstrated ability in data analysis skills including research methodologies and environmental data interpretation. Familiarity with GPS technology for accurate location tracking during field surveys. Knowledge of environmental law related to land use, conservation policies, and farming regulations. Experience working with farming communities or in ecological restoration projects is highly desirable. Excellent analysis skills combined with a proactive attitude toward problem-solving in outdoor environments. Have the ability to lift 50 lbs. Walk moderate distances on slopes in woody or brushy environment. Must pass a USDA federal background check. Have a valid Driver's License. Pay:
$17.00 - $17.22 per hour
