Job Description

Division Head of School (Grades 6-12) Robert F. Munroe Day School Position Summary The Division Head of School for Grades 6-12 serves as the chief academic and student-life leader for the middle school and upper school divisions of Robert F. Munroe Day School. This position is responsible for promoting academic excellence, student development, faculty leadership, and the overall culture of the school while supporting the mission, values, and strategic vision of the Head of School and Board of Trustees. The Division Head provides day-to-day leadership and oversight for grades 6-12, ensuring a safe, disciplined, academically rigorous, and Christ-centered learning environment that prepares students for college, career, and leadership opportunities. Primary Responsibilities Academic Leadership
  • Provide leadership and oversight for all academic programs in grades 6-12.
  • Ensure curriculum alignment, instructional quality, and academic integrity across all subject areas.
  • Monitor student academic performance and promote high standards of achievement.
  • Support and expand dual enrollment, Advanced Placement, honors, and college-preparatory opportunities.
  • Utilize academic data, assessments, and reports to improve instructional outcomes.
  • Collaborate with faculty to develop innovative and engaging instructional practices. Faculty Supervision and Development
  • Supervise, support, and evaluate middle and upper school faculty.
  • Promote professional growth through mentoring, coaching, and professional development opportunities.
  • Assist in recruiting, interviewing, hiring, and retaining qualified faculty and staff.
  • Foster a culture of professionalism, accountability, collaboration, and excellence. Student Leadership and Culture
  • Promote a positive school culture that emphasizes character, leadership, respect, and responsibility.
  • Oversee student discipline and behavioral expectations in accordance with school policies.
  • Work closely with students, parents, faculty, and counselors to support student success and well-being.
  • Encourage student involvement in academics, athletics, arts, clubs, and community service.
  • Maintain visibility and active engagement in daily school life and extracurricular activities. Operational and Administrative Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head of School with strategic planning, accreditation processes, reporting, and school improvement initiatives.
  • Coordinate schedules, calendars, academic policies, and division-wide events.
  • Ensure compliance with school policies, state requirements, and accreditation standards.
  • Support admissions, enrollment, retention, and parent relations efforts.
  • Participate in board meetings, committees, and school events as requested. Parent and Community Relations
  • Build strong relationships with parents and families through consistent communication and accessibility.
  • Address parent and student concerns professionally and effectively.
  • Represent the school positively within the community.
  • Support advancement, alumni, and fundraising initiatives when appropriate. Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree in Educational Leadership or related field preferred.
  • Minimum of 5 years of teaching and/or administrative experience, preferably in an independent or private school setting.
  • Strong leadership, communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated commitment to academic excellence and student development.
  • Experience with college-preparatory curriculum, dual enrollment, and faculty supervision preferred.
  • Ability to lead with integrity, professionalism, and a servant-hearted approach. Desired Characteristics

Employment Terms:
Full-time, 12-month administrative position
Pay:
$60,000.00 - $65,000.00 per year
