Job Description

How you'll impact our mission: At Grammy Rose Dog Rescue & Sanctuary, we are committed to our mission to save dogs from euthanasia and provide them with quality care until we help them find their forever homes. The position of Dog Care Team Member is an essential role at the rescue that requires individuals with the skills to provide the best possible care and ensure the safety of all dogs in residence, staff, volunteers and campus visitors. This includes facility cleanliness. What you'll do in this position: Provide compassionate and attentive hands-on care to rescue dogs to include feeding, grooming, exercising and socialization Document dog activity and behaviors, and check dogs for signs of illness or injury and escalate issues and concerns to supervisor Perform regular, thorough cleaning of dog living areas, cabin living spaces, fenced in play areas and campus grounds Oversee and delegate tasks to volunteers as needed; provide feedback to volunteer coordinator Assist with adoption meetings as needed to include documenting dog interactions with potential adopters Required Skills & Qualifications Previous dog care experience preferred; will train on organizational specifics Ability and desire to work with dogs of all sizes, breeds and temperaments and provide care in a humane manner in keeping with established organizational standards Proven reliability and the ability to work weekends and holidays Physical strength, stamina and agility to work with dogs, equipment and supplies up to 30 pounds on a frequent basis Outstanding customer service attitude and team-oriented approach to work Ability to communicate effectively Ability to use computers and to record dog observations and care notes A commonsense approach to matters As an employee, you can expect the following benefits:

From $18.00 per hour
