Job Description

A Dogs at Play wrangler is responsible for supervising multiple dogs in a free range indoor and outdoor play area. It requires interacting with and recognizing clients as they drop off and pick up their pups. The job includes general care of dogs: picking up solid waste, cleaning up liquid waste, filling water bowls, fluffing beds, and lots of ear and tummy rubs. We work on "house manners" all day every day. A basic knowledge of dog behavior and obedience is required. We are looking for someone who has worked with dogs at least part time as a career for at least a year (Vet tech, boarding, daycare, grooming, pet sitting). You will be on your feet for most of your shift and must be able to maintain control of large dogs. Wranglers also keep the facility clean; dusting, vacuuming and scrubbing are included job duties. We offer bathing, so there will be dog washing opportunities. Applicants must have graduated from high school and need to pass a drug test. Our staff turnover is minimal. We need someone who is excited to work hard for their shift and interested in long term employment. We are looking for someone to start working 20-21 hours a week. Working hours are Monday through Thursday 7:20am to 1pm. We host new dog appointments Wednesday evenings. Wednesday hours are flexible, but at least 4:30-6 when a new dog appointment is scheduled. We are closed for major holidays and on weekends. Attention to detail is vital. This is your first opportunity to demonstrate your ability to follow instructions and pay attention to details. If you do not answer all the questions and provide a resume you will not be considered for the job. If you can't work the hours listed above for at least a year, you need not apply.
