Responsibilities Perform grooming services including bathing, brushing, trimming, clipping, and styling tailored to each dog's breed, size, and individual needs Handle dogs safely and compassionately, utilizing animal restraint techniques to ensure their comfort and safety during grooming procedures Assess each dog's coat condition, skin health, and overall demeanor to determine appropriate grooming treatments Maintain a clean and organized grooming station, ensuring all tools and equipment are sanitized and well-maintained Communicate effectively with pet owners to understand their grooming preferences and provide expert advice on pet care and maintenance between visits Assist with pet handling tasks such as feeding, walking, or basic veterinary-related care when needed Support team efforts in maintaining a safe environment by adhering to animal handling protocols and safety standards Experience Previous experience in pet grooming or dog handling is highly preferred Familiarity with veterinary procedures or veterinary technician experience is a plus, demonstrating knowledge of animal health considerations Background in animal handling, kennel work, or pet sitting enhances your ability to manage diverse dog temperaments effectively Knowledge of dog training principles can be beneficial for managing larger or more energetic dogs Strong customer service skills are essential for building trust with clients and providing excellent service Ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary for handling larger dogs or equipment is required This role offers a rewarding environment where your dedication to animal care makes a real difference.
