Dog Kennel Assistant Job Description:

We have so many dogs and people that love coming here that we need to add another 1 or 2 people to our dog-loving staff. Will consider both FT and PT candidates, but must be able to work weekends and/or afternoon shift. We are an overnight dog boarding facility that offers dog Play-care &I grooming, as well as boarding of other animals (cats, rabbits, birds, ferrets) . You must enjoy working with animals, follow instructions well, be able to multi-task and willing to give lots of belly-rubs. This is a hands-on position feeding dogs, supervising play-time, cleaning kennels as well as interacting with the public.

Job Duties:

Feeding and tending to dogs and cats and occassionally other animals (rabbits, birds, etc.) Supervising dogs during playtime; monitoring behavior to ensure a safe atmosphere for all 4-legged (and occassionaly 3-legged) clients Communicating with staff including documenting any relevant issues during an animals stay Communicating with clients in a friendly, professional manner, and providing exceptional customer service Light reception duties, such as checking in/out clients, logging vaccination records, taking reservations, and handling client communications Prepping/distributing meals and medicating animals as needed

Qualifications:

Must be 18 years of age or older The ability to work all holidays including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years Must have excellent time management, organizational, and communication skills. Ability to work in any weather condition, ability to lift up to 40 lbs, and to stand for a long duration of time Must have a driver's license, own transportation and be dependable Must love dogs and be comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes Ability to stay calm and think clearly in stressful situations Experience in managing a group of dogs and recognizing canine behavioral signs a huge plus Basic social media knowledge Ability to Groom Dogs a Huge Plus (or willing to learn; yes we can train you )
