Full-time General Summary:
Receives organ and tissue donor referrals and distributes calls to appropriate staff. Enters donor referrals and donor information into computer system. Contacts tissue donor families and facilitates the donation process. Effectively and efficiently coordinates the organ import process. Participates in interdepartmental education and development. Maintains competency to perform the role through ongoing education and training. Follows best practice guidelines as outlined by the NJSN management team. Shift and rotating days, nights, weekend and holiday assignments. Occasional overtime may be required. Responsible for timely compliance with all Network programs and policies.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Functions:
Receives initial local and non-local referrals for organ and tissue donors. Conducts initial screening on suitability for donation and triages call to appropriate party as necessary. Accurately enters all data related to donor referrals into Network's data management systems by end of shift. Contacts potential tissue donor families via telephone and offers the option of donation. Makes notification of and records conversation of consent process according to all legal requirements. Obtains medical and social history from donor family. Communicates with Network staff and tissue banks on consented donors. Maintains access to DonorNet and can efficiently take organ import offers. Screens organ imports based on set criteria. Contacts transplant surgeons and transplant coordinators depending on center and can effectively communicate information regarding the organ import offer. Able to efficiently place initial and secondary holds on all potential tissue referrals. Maintains access and checks donor registries on every potential tissue and organ referral. Maintains competency to perform the role through ongoing education and training. Maintains an authorization rate at the mean of the department. Attends scheduled departmental staff meetings and training sessions according to managers guidelines.
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or equivalent required. Data entry experience is required. Customer Service skills desired. Experience in health related field is preferred. Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
Bilingual:
Spanish preferred Maintains competencies to perform the role through ongoing education and training. Attains required proficiencies in donor referral activities, documentation, data tissue approach, organ imports, and must be fully trained on organ sharing, to be considered for Donation Resource Coordinator Level 2.

Standard Shifts:
Three 12.5-hour shifts per week
Coverage:
Includes day shift (6:45 AM
  • 7:15 PM) and overnight shift (6:45 PM
  • 7:15 AM), weekends, and holidays, all on a rotational basis Training Schedule (First 60 Days): Days 1-30: Monday-Friday, 9:00 AM
  • 5:00 PM Days 31-60: Any 5 days within a 7-day workweek, 9:00 AM

77 This salary range is based on our market pay structures. Individual compensation is determined by various factors, including but not limited to business needs, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, licenses, certifications, education, and experience.
