As the largest independent pump reengineering aftermarket company in the world, Hydro's provided engineering expertise, pump repair, and support services to the industry since 1969. We have a fantastic full time career opportunity in Nederland, TX for a qualified Draftsman. The successful candidate will meet the following requirements: Support the Engineering department, Draftsman provides technical expertise for the production of detailed and accurate drawings for use in the Pump/Machine Shop and Welding Shop operations. This involves the inspection of parts and using a 3D scanner. This is a hands-on role, and the successful candidate will collaborate within the Engineering Department on matters related to drafting parts for pump shop requirements. You will work with shop and Quality Assurance on projects related to customers' requirements. You will also ensure the creation of accurate drawings and, when required, modify such drawings. Ensure accurate 3-D models are prepared for complex parts and new projects are created to meet customer requirements. This position may need to travel to other company sites on occasion.

Key Job Responsibilities:

Design and prepare drawings using 3-D software (SolidWorks) Develop detailed mechanical designs and drawings Revise and modify drawings to accommodate changes and enhancement Use of portable Romer arm to reverse engineering parts for customer projects Utilize Finite Element Analysis programs for various tests on 3-D designed parts/models in order to study the mechanics or components so that the properties of the materials comply with standards Create initial design to meet customer's requirements Convert design into detailed and accurate drawings Ensure designs follow customer's safety rules and regulations (standards) When required, field visits to customers' sites for inspections and to take accurate measurements using the Romer arm Prepare complete project documentation Job Qualifications Bachelor's degree in related field. In lieu of a 4-year degree, completion of a 2-year engineering technology diploma with a minimum of 2 years' experience related to drawing of machinery and mechanical devices Proficient level skills in SolidWorks software Geomagic Experience Strong communication skills with customers and various levels of management High level of mathematical knowledge for use in 3-D design work for parts Working knowledge and proficiency of Microsoft suite. Experience working in the pump industry a plus.

Pay:

$30.00 - $40.00 per hour
