Ashley Furniture is seeking an experienced Driver Manager to oversee part of our regional fleet drivers. This position is responsible for managing drivers and ensuring smooth, safe, and efficient daily operations for our private fleet. The Driver Manager will handle driver performance monitoring, driver and asset utilization, payroll administration, and dispatch operations.Responsibilities:
Daily Dispatch:
Coordinate and manage daily dispatch operations to ensure timely and efficient serviceRoute Management:
Plan, optimize, and oversee routes to maximize efficiency and service qualityDriver Supervision:
Manage and supervise drivers, ensuring adherence to safety protocols and company standardsPerformance Monitoring:
Track and evaluate driver performance, conduct regular assessments, and provide coaching and feedbackDriver and Asset Utilization:
Measure and monitor driver performance making sure we are fully utilizing our fleet to capacityAdministrative Duties Payroll Management:
Process and manage driver payroll, including hours tracking, overtime, and compensation accuracyScheduling:
Create and maintain driver schedules, manage time-off requests, and ensure adequate coverageRecord Keeping:
Maintain accurate records of routes, driver hours, vehicle logs, and incident reportsCompliance:
Ensure all drivers maintain proper licensing and meet regulatory requirementsSafety & Quality Safety Leadership:
Promote and enforce safety standards, conduct safety meetings, and implement corrective actionsIncident Management:
Investigate incidents and accidents, document findings, and implement preventive measuresVehicle Oversight:
Monitor vehicle inspections, maintenance schedules, and coordinate necessary repairsCustomer Service:
Address service-related concerns and maintain high satisfaction levelsRequired Qualifications Experience:
3-5 years in fleet management or transportation operations, preferably with local delivery servicesLeadership:
Proven ability to manage, motivate, and develop driver teamsPayroll Knowledge:
Experience with payroll processing and time tracking systemsDispatch Experience:
Hands-on experience with dispatch operations and route planningRegulatory Knowledge:
Understanding of DOT regulations, safety compliance, and driver qualification requirementsCommunication:
Strong verbal and written communication skillsTechnology:
Proficiency with fleet management software, dispatch systems, andMicrosoft Office Qualifications:
Experience:

This position is located in a climate-controlled office environment with standard lighting and moderate noise levels typical of professional workspace settings. The role primarily involves sitting at a desk for extended periods while working with computers, phones, and other office equipment. The collaborative environment includes interaction with team members and may require attendance at meetings, conference calls, and cross-departmental communications during regular business hours.Pay:
