DSP (Direct Support Professional)
Full-Time, Melrose Park, IL Hours:
230pm-11pm
Hourly Rate:
$20-$23 (based on experience) Full-Time Position with Paid Training! Tuition Reimbursement and Comprehensive Benefits Package!
LOOKING FOR
Are you a Direct Support Professional or student studying psychology, elementary or special education, occupational therapy, physical therapy, or other related fields looking to gain experience with children with developmental disabilities? The DSP position may be a good fit for you. We offer hands on training to expand your skill sets! SUMMARY Hope is a clinical, educational, and therapeutic provider for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities, including Autism Spectrum Disorder. We exist to help children and their families reach their maximum potential by providing state-of-the-art applied behavioral analysis therapies and access to recreation, vocational training, and individualized education programming. WHAT YOU WILL DO
Work directly 1:1 in a group home setting with children with developmental disabilities Effectively communicate with families/guardians about their child s progress. Work with the treatment team to track session data and help clients achieve individualized communication and early learning goals. Assist with planning and preparing for clinic-based group activities. Model professional appearance and attitudes.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING
Must be 21 years of age or older. High School Diploma or equivalent education. A Valid Driver s License Successful background clearance, physical, agility test, and drug/alcohol screening. Lift, push, pull and/ or carry 50 pounds. Ability to stand, walk, grasp, reach, stoop, crouch, crawl and run.
WHAT WE PREFER
Associate s or Bachelor s degree in a psychology, education, or human services related field. Experience working with people with developmental disabilities. Enthusiasm for working with children.
