DSP (Direct Support Professional)

Responsibilities:

• Provide direct care and support to individuals with disabilities or special needs
• Assist with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, and grooming
• Administer medications and monitor vital signs as needed
• Ensure the safety and well-being of residents at all times
• Promote and uphold resident rights and dignity
• Assist with meal preparation and feeding if necessary
• Maintain a clean and organized living environment for residents
• Provide emotional support and companionship to residents
• Document and report any changes in residents' condition or behavior

Skills:

• Strong patient care skills, including the ability to provide compassionate care to individuals with disabilities or special needs
• Ability to lift heavy objects or individuals when necessary
• Knowledge of resident rights and the ability to advocate for them
• Excellent cleanliness and hygiene practices
• Previous experience in caregiving or a related field is preferred
• Proficient in taking vital signs and monitoring health conditions Please note that this job description is not exhaustive, and additional duties may be assigned as needed.
