Job Description

Job Summary The Early Childhood Coordinator (ECC) is responsible for oversight of the Arkansas Better Chance (ABC) and/or Early Intervention Day Treatment (EIDT) program. The ECC shall ensure the quality and integrity of all aspect of the program. Duties & Responsibilities Ensure facility compliance with all regulating agencies which includesDivision of Child Care and EarlyChildhood Education and Division of Provider Services and Quality Assurance. Ensure implementation of the curriculum in classrooms to meet required standards and the individual needs of preschool children including developmental-delayed preschool children. Ensures a developmental screening has been completed as required by the program in which the child is enrolled. If the developmental screening identifies a potential area of delay the ECC will provide the Intake Coordinator with a copy of the developmental screening. Completes Developmental Evaluations for new and existing Early Intervention Day Treatment patients as needed. Ensures that the following tasks for the ABC program are completed timely: COPA, Work Sampling, and match documentation. Supervises and directs the activities of all early childhood personnel in coordination with the Clinic Director. Recruits, interviews, and recommends personnel actions (i.e., discipline, discharge, promotion, performance evaluations). Ensures early childhood personnel completes continuing education as required by regulating agencies. Conducts quarterly observations for each classroom to ensure compliance with regulating agencies, quality of services provided, and to ensure classrooms are equipped with educational materials and supplies. Conducts bi-weekly preschool staff meetings for purposes of team building, lesson planning, goal implementation, and best practices for early childhood educational experiences. Schedules parent participation events that include parent information meetings, open house, festivals, parent teacher conferences, education opportunities, parent volunteers and parent events. Completes professional development to meet requirements to be in compliance with Child Care Licensing and maintain Better Beginnings. Other duties as assigned. Required Skills/Abilities Excellent decision-making and problem-solving skills. Excellent verbal and written communication. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent time management skills. Proficient Microsoft Office. Ability to resolve conflict and deal with issues. Education Requirements Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development (preferred); Bachelor's Degree in related field (Child/Family Studies) and four years' experience; Associate's Degree in Early Childhood or Child Development and six years' experience; or Child Development Associate Certificate and eight years' experience. Physical Requirements Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at times. Must be physically able to walk, stand, and stoop for several hours each day. Must be willing and able to sit on the floor and get up without assistance.
