Early Childhood Teacher Assistant-PM Only

Job Summary Holy Cross Academy seeks a caring, dependable, and faith‑filled Early Childhood Teacher Assistant to support our afternoon (PM) early childhood program. The Teacher Assistant works collaboratively with the lead teacher to provide a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment that supports the academic, social, emotional, and spiritual development of young children in alignment with Catholic values. Key Responsibilities Assist the lead teacher with classroom instruction and daily routines during PM hours Support small‑group and individual learning activities Help maintain a positive, orderly, and developmentally appropriate classroom environment Supervise children during transitions, dismissal, and afternoon activities Assist with preparation and cleanup of classroom materials Reinforce classroom rules, routines, and positive behavior expectations Provide care and assistance with basic needs (snack time, restroom breaks, etc.) Communicate respectfully and professionally with teachers, staff, and families Model Christian values and support the mission of Holy Cross Academy Follow all school policies, safety procedures, and child‑protection guidelines Qualifications High school diploma required; college coursework in Early Childhood Education preferred Experience working with young children (ages 3-6) preferred Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team Positive attitude, patience, and strong interpersonal skills Commitment to supporting Catholic education and Christian values Ability to stand, move, and engage actively with young children Schedule PM hours only (afternoon schedule; exact hours determined by program needs) School‑year position The Archdiocese of St. Louis is an Equal Opportunity Employer and prohibits discrimination and harassment of any kind.
