Job Description
LOCATION
South Sioux City, NE- Early Head Start Center
JOB TYPE
•Early Head Start Teacher:
Full-time, 40 hours per week, Monday- Friday
JOB SUMMARY
- Early Head Start Teacher
- Early Head Start (EHS) Teachers are responsible for understanding, planning, and implementing developmentally appropriate activities for children birth through age three.
- Promote nurturing and bonding relationships. Encourage self-help skills and provide consistent routines. EHS Teachers work with families to identify goals, strengths, and needs and support them in a process which leads them toward self-sufficiency.
- Assist children in establishing good habits of personal hygiene; change diapers so children are comfortable.
- Develop weekly lesson plans and send them to supervisor. Conduct screenings within 45 days of enrollments.
- Complete required educational home visits with Parent/Teacher conferences for each child.
- Attend and participate in children's MDT and IFSP meetings. Enter documentation for each child and manage child data/reports through the on-line assessment system.
- Maintain a clean organized room. Frequent kneeling, stooping, bending, and lifting up to 50 pounds.
- Maintain confidentiality of program participants and follow Program and Agency standards and policies.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION
- Early Head Start Teacher An Associate's, Bachelor's or advance degree in early childhood education or a related field with experience in teaching 0-3 early education and care, or a Child Development Associate (CDA) credential.
WAGE & BENEFITS
•Early Head Start Teacher:
Starting wage is $20.00 per hour, plus benefits. Wage increases with education and experience. Benefits include health, life, dental and vision insurance.
