Reports To:
Exceptional Children's Director, Coordinator The Behavior Support Liaison is responsible for the follow duties and assists with additional responsibilities as assigned: The Behavior Support Liaison (BSL): Monitors, coordinates and links services and interventions for students served by PRC 29 funds. Provide leadership to the PRC 29 / Behavior Support Team; Provide intervention training for Behavior Support staff members and to other service providers; Provide direct services to PRC 29 students (25 @ Alpha Center) by implementing research-based interventions/lessons to address the behavioral needs of students, 2x weekly and as additional support as needed; Review of progress monitoring data (attendance, grades, discipline record, BIP goal progress - data sources include PowerSchool, Educators Handbook, Behavior Support Assistant/Behavior Support Liaison intervention logs) for all PRC 29 students; Develop and submit all required PRC 29 funding documentation (including Funding Request to the NC Department of Public Instruction, submission of required Student Information Forms for each eligible PRC 29 student in CECAS, three (3) times per school year - Beginning of the Year, Middle Year and End of Year); Submit monthly Suspension/Attendance report to NCDPI Attends regional and state meetings for professional development and PLC opportunities to share and gain additional resources Maintains CPI trainer certificaiton
The Behavior Support Liaison:
Meets with all PRC 29 / Behavior Support Staff monthly: to review caseload data, update caseloads as needed, provide Behavior Support Staff with training in research-based interventions/lessons that will in turn be utilized with their PRC 29 and Behavior Support students; and provide opportunity for PRC 29 and Behavior Support staff to collaborate on challenging cases. Completes monthly fidelity checks to ensure the fidelity of interventions implemented with fidelity as well as documentation of these services. In addition to the above charges, the Behavior Support Liaison assists the Coordinator/Adminstrator with the following administrative responsibilities: Manages daily operations of the Alpha Center and Day Treatment including supervision of staff, students and safety needs; Conducts mandatory administrative teacher observations and summative evaluations for the Alpha Center certified staff, Special Education Pre-K certified staff at Sadie Saulter Education Center; and Project Search certified staff at Vidant Medical Center; Behavior Support Teachers, and others as needed. Serves with the Coordinator of Special Programs to coordinate and monitor services provided to students through affiliated Day Treatment programs
