REPORTS TO:
Director of Instructional Services
DEFINITION
: Under general direction, coordinates all state testing (AZELLA, AASA, AzSCI, KEA, any SAFTs mandated by ADE) to comply with Federal and State requirements for both teachers and students.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

TASKS :
Coordinate all state testing (ie AZELLA, AASA, AzSCI, KEA, SAFTs) to comply with Federal and State requirements. Ensure all students are tested in the most appropriate manner, verify data, analyze and prepare graphs and charts, share results with district and sites, file reports and write appeals regarding mandated requirements regarding both language and achievement tests. Work cooperatively with site administration to develop and implement the procedures and timeline for administering state assessments. Train staff on proper testing security, administration, and monitoring procedures. Generate EL reports to teachers, administrators, and the Governing Board. Oversee and may assist in administering assessments. Monitor academic progress of recently reclassified students as required by ADE (FEPY1 and FEPY2). Work cooperatively with EL specialist and principals with placement of EL students in appropriate SEI courses. Supervise, train, and evaluate test administrators for state assessment administration. Assign and monitor work of test administrators. Verify accuracy of student information to determine student test eligibility. Notify parents of student EL eligibility via Parental Notification and Consent Form for student placement in SEI Program. Work cooperatively with EL Specialist to meet with parent/guardian to address SEI Model and placement of student. Export PowerSchool Reports. Site observations during testing windows. Attend meetings and travels as needed. Perform related duties as assigned.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND OTHER CHARACTERISTICS
: Knowledge of Arizona SEI Models. Knowledge of Federal and State guidelines, laws and regulations governing EL education. Knowledge of Title III grants Knowledge of assessment and reassessment processes. Knowledge of District policies and procedures. Knowledge of supervisory principles and practices. Skill in public speaking and presenting. Skill in research and finding material for test use, obtaining copyright permission as needed. Skill in administering tests. Skill in gathering statistical data and developing reports. Skill in effective oral and written communication. Skill in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships. Skill in creating training materials. Skill in PowerPoint, Excel and CVC files.
REQUIREMENTS
: Work is performed in both indoor and outdoor environments. Work requires frequent standing, walking, bending, lifting and/or carrying up to 30 pounds. May be required to restrain students with behavioral problems. May be exposed to infectious diseases and body fluid borne pathogens. Required travel for this position ranges from 1 week to 4 weeks per year. Candidates should be able to travel as required for 2-3 days at a time, some in the June/July timeframe.
QUALIFICATIONS
: Master's degree in education or related, five (5) years of teaching experience (including ELD classroom experience). Must possess an Arizona teaching certificate and SEI, Second Language (ESL) or Bilingual Endorsement from Arizona Department of Education. Fingerprint Clearance Card (IVP) required at the time of hiring. Additional certifications may also be required as specified by the District.
