As the largest organization of its kind in Santa Clara County, we are dedicated to offering career-oriented education to both high school and adult students. Annually, MetroED provides 2,600 diverse students with the skills to help them be productive, income-earning, and tax-paying contributors to Silicon Valley. MetroED collaborates with designated districts to provide comprehensive educational opportunities for adults and high school students. Through our Silicon Valley Career Technical Education program, we offer career technical education to high school students and, on a space-available basis, to adult students in the following districts: Campbell Union High School District, East Side Union High School District, Los Gatos-Saratoga Union High School District, Milpitas Unified School District, San Jose Unified School District, and Santa Clara Unified School District. Additionally, our Silicon Valley Adult Education provides courses for the San Jose Unified School District. Job Summary Job Summary This position is one of two co-equal and collaborative Directors who jointly lead Silicon Valley Adult Education at Metropolitan Education District. Both Directors share instructional leadership responsibilities for their assigned programs and must work collaboratively and coherently. This Director's individual focus includes evening programs, campus safety coordination during evening operations, and emergency response leadership, and supervision of California Work Opportunity and Responsibility to Kids (CalWORKS) which includes leading campuswide systems that promote student leadership, CTSO participation, retention, career-connected learning, family involvement, and equitable access to career pathways. Qualifications Experience:
  • At least three (3) years of administrative experience in secondary, vocational, adult education or community college
  • Three (3) years of teaching experience, and/or planning in providing of training workshops
Education and Credentials:
  • California Administrative Services Credential
  • Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred, with a major in education, administration, CTE, or a related field
  • California Teaching Credential and/or
Adult Education Credential Required Documents:
1. Letter of Introduction 2. Letter(s) of Reference (Three (3) dated within the past 12 months) 3. Resume Requirements /
