Part Time: 10 Hours/Week, Faith Formation Coordinator, Sacred Heart Saratoga

POSITION SUMMARY

The Faith Formation Coordinator promotes the faith formation of the adults and children of Sacred Heart Parish. The Program encourages families to share and grow their faith at home by offering the entire family formation opportunities through speaker series, parent meetings and children faith and sacrament formation. Groups meet concurrently, bi-monthly. To ensure a cohesive, parish wide program, the Faith Formation coordinator works with the Youth and Young Adult Minister

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE THE FOLLOWING

(other duties may be assigned) Meet regularly (monthly) with the Youth and Young Adult Minister to facilitate collaboration and consistency of shared programs Purchase faith formation materials Work with current catechists on instruction and recruit more as needed Schedule and facilitate set up/clean up of Family faith formation meetings Enlist volunteers to support the program (catechists, set up/clean up) Lead the sessions preparing First Eucharist Candidates Plan, schedule, order materials and facilitate Order of Christian Initiation for Children Program Plan and communicate formation topics so appropriate materials can be provided to families for instruction between faith formation sessions Coordinates with the Youth and Young Adult Minister to ensure that formation topics are embedded in youth activities. Coordinate the annual mandatory VIRTUS Empowering God's Children video and discussion in Family Faith Formation classes, including reporting attendance to the Diocese Attend Staff Meetings

Completion of ILM or equivalent program or experience

Language Skills:

Strong English and clear communication skills.

Computational Skills:

Ability to work with varying levels of parishioners. Ability to represent instructions as required for different learning styles.

Physical Environment:

Pay Range:

$21-$25/hr. Depending on Experience
